Wan Kay Homestay in Kuala Terengganu
A typical homestay program introduced by the Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism is actually a program that allows tourists, local or foreign, to stay with a host family and be part of the family and their community to experience the local culture first hand.
BEiB’s Wan Kay Homestay is somewhat different from the typical homestay. Wan Kay Homestay, which is located in Kuala Terenngganu, is simply another place to stay in Kuala Terengganu, which I think is definitely worth considering.
If you are getting bored of staying in a hotel or chalet and would like to stay ‘at home’ while you are in Kuala Terengganu, then Wan Kay Homestay is definitely for you. I have stayed in a similar ‘homestay’ once when I was in Ipoh and I must say it is worth every dollar for its comfort, convenience and privacy.
Wan Kay Homestay is especially appealing because the room you are staying in is actually a separate guest room from the owner’s house.
The accommodation is separated from the main house and guests have a view of the garden. The room is fitted with king size and a single bed, individually controlled air conditioning, en suite bathroom with hot and cold water, television , complimentary coffee making facilities and WIFI.
Wow.. it even has WIFI facility… perfect for modern days travellers, especially bloggers to post latest update on their visit to Kuala Terengganu… well done Beib for the thoughtful idea of providing WIFI connection…. asking for a desktop PC will be too much right Beib? :)
Wan Kay Homestay is close to the traditional fishing village of Mengabang Telipot, Seberang Takir and Batu Rakit, 15km from Kuala Terengganu City Center and 4km from Kuala Terengganu Sultan Mahmud Airport, on the North East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The homestay is set amidst landscaped gardens and is surrounded by natural tropical vegetation in this peaceful and kampong area of Terengganu. It faces clean surrounding fringed by greens.
Based on what are offered, I must say, I will definitely want to give a shot at Wan Kay Homestay when I visit to Kuala Terengganu next time.
At RM100 per night (valid 31st Dec 2007) for triple occupancy, Wan Kay Homestay is a bargain for budget travellers with all the facilities offered. I can’t wait to visit Terengganu again, which is famous for her beatiful beaches and keropok lekor.
See you in Kuala Terengganu Beib…. Insyaallah.

CJCM: U invest, we harvest….heheheh
Thanks for the review and response.
CJCM: He he he… no problem Beib. I’d send you the invoice later… hahaha
