The grand saga of Bandar Mahkota Cheras toll chaos

by CJCM on May 31st, 2008

At last, the good news has arrived for the Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) residents after the federal government cabinet had ordered the toll-free access road ro remain opened.

…. Works Minister Mohd Zin Mohamed arrived at 3.30pm to make his highly-anticipated announcement to the jubilant crowd.

“As the case is still awaiting a decision in court, I’ve agreed to open this road and I hope we as responsible citizens will respect and abide by the law. I promise to all to resolve this issue permanently but I will need more time.

“With the opening of this road, Grand Saga has agreed not to re-erect the barricade and assured they will not initiate third party action against the government,” he said using a loudhailer.

Chang Jiun Haur admitted to ICU after beaten by the police squadBut the good news for the BMC resident doesn’t come at a cheap price. A driver of a passing-by car travelling with three others is now being treated at Kajang General Hospital Intensive Care Unit, after severly beaten by the policemen.

The incident took place when Chang were reportedly trying to leave the scene, but were allegedly reported to have attempted to run over several members of the riot policemen guarding the disputed barricade near BMC with their Proton Wira.

But the bad news for Chang did not stop there as Malaysiakini reported that Chang and the three passengers are now being investigated by the police for attempted murder.

Now this is strange, because while the police had the right to investigate the four for whatever reasons they believe, it appears that there is no investigation being carried out on the policemen who had obviously acted beyond their duties of ensuring peace and order at the location. But then, Malaysian policemen had done worse than this before, so after a second thought… no it is not strange at all… it’s just the way Malaysian police works.. perhaps.

Suhakam is of course not happy with the police conduct.

Meanwhile the Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) conveyed in a press conference today on the BMC clash that the police must produce evidence from their investigation.

“If they were hit, prove it. Reveal the names and the doctors who have treated them,” declared Suhakam commissioner N Siva Subramaniam.

What type of police personnel we have in this country ? . First we have the ” Mata Lebam”, then “C4′ and now ” FRU ” .
I wont be surprised not will be the ” Dog Unit Tindakan Khas ”
Make sure we know which party to vote in the future election .

Chang can sue for FRU for attempted murder. Residents of BMC can testify and there are videos to back up the attempted murder by FRU. Also, pls include Chor Chee Heung the brain dead idiot as a defendant too.
