The B5Media network:

Musa is wrong about UMNO.

Musa is wrong about UMNO.

“UMNO is already over 61 years old and is experiencing ‘penyakit tua’ (old age sickness) which cannot be remedied by senior citizens but rather the younger generations with new ideas”
Musa Hitam, 22nd October 2008
Musa is wrong when he says UMNO is over 61. He has forgotten (Mahathir was right when he said ‘Melayu mudah lupa’) that UMNO had ‘died’ of ‘not’ old age but sudden ’stroke’ and ‘heart attack’ at a rather not-so-old age. That was in 1987 when UMNO was declared illegal (thanks to Mahathir of course) by the court. Without going into detail of what had taken place, …read more

Ungrateful BN leaders….

Ungrateful BN leaders….

I was reading this piece from Malaysiakini titled ‘Khairy, look who got buried‘ (go on to click on the link, you need not be a subscriber to read this piece) and I am particularly attracted to an entry by one Dr SK, which I though should be known not just to the people of Permatang Pauh, but also to the whole world.
Dr SK: To all of you who voted for BN, your man Arif and none of the BN big guns or supporters had the grace to attend the announcement of the results of the Permatang Pauh by-election. ‘Thank you’ …read more

PAS working with UMNO: Go ahead and dig your own grave

PAS working with UMNO: Go ahead and dig your own grave

Today’s two reports in Malaysiakini must be too much for PAS members to swallow.

Saari: Some PAS leaders keen on pact with Umno
This revelation comes from PAS Selangor information chief Saari Sungib amid denials from the party’s top leadership that no such cooperation will take place.
Speaking to malaysiakini today, Saari said PAS deputy president Nasaruddin Mat Isa and the party’s commissioner for Terengganu Mustapha Ali are solidly behind the idea.
“They believe that if PAS leaders can hold some key ministerial posts in the Umno-led federal government, it will be possible to initiate changes from within,” he added.

Mahathir quit UMNO Baru laa… not UMNO

Mahathir quit UMNO Baru laa… not UMNO

Mahathir actually did not quit UMNO laa. Please…. he quit UMNO Baru. The original UMNO party that was formed 62 years ago had been declared unlawful by the court during Mahathir’s administration. So Mahathir formed UMNO Baru and that is the party that had been the main component of the Barisan Nasional ever since. Now Mahathir had quit the party he himself formed in 1987. Well…. what can I say except…. sayonara Mahathir. Musa Hitam said ‘duri dalam daging dah terkeluar‘ (literally trnslated: thorn in the flesh has come out).
I urge all bloggers to refer UMNO using its full name …read more

Malaysian Prime Minister: Pak Lah…. Najib…. Ku Li…. does it matter?

Malaysian Prime Minister: Pak Lah…. Najib…. Ku Li…. does it matter?

Umno veteran former vice president Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah today said that he wanted to challenge Umno president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for the presidency in the coming party polls.
The MP for Gua Musang offered himself to lead Umno to “heal the party” which was in “a bad way”.
“I still have ideas, I am still brave because I am independent and I don’t depend on anyone. If my service is still needed and my strength can still be used, I am offering myself to work for the rakyat,” he told a press conference in Kota Baru today.
