The seat had been vacated by his wife Wan Azizah who had been holding the forte there since Anwar was sacked, also for sodomy allegation by Mahathir, way back in 1998. The nomination date for the by-election had been set on 16th August 2008 and if there is a contest, the by-election will be held on 26th August 2008. Interestingly, the dates for both the sodomy court case and the by-elections are announced on the same day, today.

Now, will Anwar be allowed bail tomorrow and appear in Permatang Pauh caomaigning for the by-election? That is also an interesting question but the answer will only be known tomorrow…. so do keep your fingers crossed guys.

Anwar, of course, claimed the sodomy allegation is another conspiracy against him and the Government had also denied the conspiracy allegation by Anwar.

While a police report against Anwar had been dealt with super efficiently, the whole nation is watching in high anticipation what would happen to the ACA report against Pak Lah and Najib.

First, Najib said he never met Saiful Bukhari. Then he said he did meet Saiful Bukhari but that was on scholarsip application matters…. never mind the fact that Saiful Bukhari is a college drop-out after performing badly in his tertiary study.

Later, Anwar was arrested one hour before the 2pm deadline… you know the story too well…. but luckily he was released but not after spending one night in lockup. In the lock up, his movement was recorded, also never done before.

The recent Malaysiakini report makes this case even more interesting yet funny.

There is no evidence that Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan was sodomised, according to the doctor who examined him four hours before he lodged a police report alleging he was sexually assaulted by PKRleader Anwar Ibrahim.

It is believed that Anwar’s former aide Saiful (left) went to two different hospitals on June 28 – the day he lodged the police report claiming that he was sodomised by his ex-boss.

He first went to Hospital Pusrawi (Pusat Rawatan Islam) in Jalan Tun Razak – a government-linked Islamic medical institution – at about 2pm.

According to a copy of the two-page medical report obtained by malaysiakini yesterday, Saiful went to the hospital complaining of ‘tenesmus’ – a medical term for difficulty and pain in passing motion.

He was examined by Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid, the medical officer on duty.

The doctor said that the patient had alleged he was assaulted by the intrusion of a piece of “plastic” in the anus.

Mohamed Osman, according to his medical report which was recorded at 2.14pm, found “zero active bleeding”, “zero ulcer or pus”, “zero tear and scar” in Saiful’s anus.

He also stated that Saiful appeared “alert”, “comfortable”, “not pale” and did not show any fever symptoms.

Now, there will be denials everywhere. Pusrawi will surely deny the report’s existence or its validity. Even the doctor is now missing in action… but I think the people can guess what happened to him.

However, the truth will prevail, so we just have to be more patient to see how this will end up, but one thing is for sure, Anwar will be stopped at all cost, no matter what using what ever flimsy excuses the powers that be can get. That is the price one person has to pay… all for being an Anwar Ibrahim.

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would not have been able to turn up for his scheduled appointment at the city police headquarters on time.

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wan Farid Wan Salleh said Anwar was supposed to have gone straight to the police headquarters here after his interview at the Anti Corruption Agency in Putrajaya.

“Instead, he was on his way home. He couldn’t possibly have made it on time.

“The police were just executing a warrant of arrest against Anwar,” he told reporters in the Parliament lobby on Wednesday.

Wan Farid was commenting on the arrest of Anwar, who was picked up in front of his house in Bukit Segambut for investigations after a former aide had lodged a sodomy report against him.

Asked why the police had not waited until 2pm before making the arrest, Wan Farid said: “What’s the difference between 20 or 50 minutes?”

“According to the information I received, he went voluntarily to the police car without any incident and that under police custody, he has given his full cooperation,” he said.

As for me, I do not know really if Anwar is a sodomite or not. Only Allah The Almighty knows best. However, I do know from the first sodomy allegation against Anwar that many things that had happened during the sodomy trials were seriously flawed. The most obvious flaw was the fact that Azizan Abu Bakar was not a credible witnes at all. Many other irregularities can be read here.

This blog post, hence, is the symbol of my sympathy and support to Anwar and I pray to Allah Almighty that Anwar will be always be under The Almighty’s protection if Anwar is indeed innocent and that the truth will, once again, prevail.

In Islam, Saiful Bukhari Azlan has to produce at least 4 witnesses to back his claim against Anwar. Yes… you read it correct. No less than 4 witnesses of the actual sodomy acts being committed are required to commit Anwar in this sodomy allegation. As a matter of fact, in Islam, if Saiful Bukhari Azlan failed to produce 4 material witnesses to back his allegation against Anwar, he would be caned. No kidding.

Mind you, these 4 witnesses must also fulfill certain criteria to be accepted as credible witnesses. Not any Tom, Dick and Harry can be accepted as witnesses in the adultery case.

So to those who have been making so much noises trying to appear to be seen as Islamic by urging Anwar to swear in the name of Allah using the Quran, please stop the crap. If you want to be seen or appear as Islamic, you should ask Saiful Bukhari Azlan to produce 4 witnesses to prove that Anwar is guilty of sodomy. If not, will you just just let the civil law takes it course…. regardless of, of course, how much trust we have in our judiciary, which is not the point being discussed here.

The United States said today it would oppose any politically motivated investigation or prosecution of Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim facing fresh sex misconduct charges.

I am issuing this statement from within the embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Kuala Lumpur. I was transported to the embassy earlier this morning fearing that my personal safety was in danger. I thank all those who offered to assist me in this time of need and am grateful to the Turkish Ambassador for extending an invitation to seek refuge within the Embassy.

Since the March 8th elections, numerous credible sources from within the government and military intelligence have advised me that certain agents from within Barisan Nasional leadership have initiated plots to cause harm to me or my family or my supporters. I have been told that my assassination has not been ruled out as means to subvert the people’s will and bring an end to the transformational changes taking place in Malaysia.

Notwithstanding the threats which are intended to silence my voice, I intend make public new evidence implicating that the Inspector General of the Police Musa Hassan and the Attorney General Gani Patail engaged in criminal acts of fabricating evidence in cases launched against me in 1998.

The allegations that have been made against me on Saturday are nothing more than a replay of the events which transpired in 1998 when I was sacked from the office of the Deputy Prime Minister, jailed and beaten, and then charged and convicted by a kangaroo court for crimes which I never committed. This charade was orchestrated by a corrupt Barisan Nasional leadership which made use of the entire apparatus of the state power including its control of the judiciary, the police force, and its grip on the mainstream media. These actions are being repeated today to undermine the forces of reform and renewal which were unleashed in the March 2008 elections.

In 1997, Anwar Ibrahim was sacked from the government by Mahathir allegedly for sodomy, found guilty in 2000 and sentenced to a six-year jail term. However, in 2004 the sodomy conviction was overturned and reversed by the Federal Court, the highest court, and Anwar was subsequently released.

We thought that was it. The trial was shameful and any normal person would have thought the BN Government should have learned its lesson. But it looks like there is no way to get Anwar arrested for reasons other than sodomy.

Malaysiakini latest report is, to say the least, unexpected…. not after 10 years and after the Federal Court reversed the conviction.

A police report has been lodged against PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim for allegedly sodomosing one of his aides – the second time that such an accusation had been made in over 10 years.

The report was lodged by the 23-year-old victim at the Jalan Travers police station at 6pm.

KL police chief DCP Muhammad Sabtu Osman has confirmed that the report had been made.

It is learnt that Anwar met with a number of party leaders at an emergency meeting late tonight.

At 11.15pm, PKR sent out an SMS message stating that the police had detained Anwar’s special aide Saiful Bahari this afternoon and forced him to lodge a police report about being sodomised by his boss.

It added that the police are expected to arrest Anwar soon.
