The People’s Anti-Oil Manipulation Movement (Geramm) – a coalition of NGOs and Pakatan Rakyat youth groups had changed the date for anti-fuel price hike rally from 12th July to 5th July citing tactical reasons. It has targeted 1 million protesters which if successful will be much bigger than 100,000 protesters at the recent pre-election Bersih rally.
Going by the hardship faced by people from all walks of life, the 41% percent hike on fuel price will potentially invite millions of ordinary Malaysians to the street. When will Pak Lah’s government listen to their employer…. the people?

Thanks to Azalina Othman, her ministry’s latest move to cancel the tourism-related memorandum of understandings in the Pakatan Rakyat-ruled states just proves to the whole rakyat the true color of the BN Government.
KUALA LUMPUR: Tourism memorandums of understanding with Opposition-ruled state governments will be terminated given the change in leadership, said Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
She said this was in line with the termination of Tourism Action Councils in the states which were previously chaired by Barisan Nasional’s state executive councillors in charge of tourism in each state.

Pakatan Rakyat: Finally, it will be BN vs PR

Top leaders of opposition parties – multiracial PKR, pre-dominantly Chinese DAP and Islamic-based PAS – today announced that they have agreed to form a new coalition called Pakatan Rakyat or People’s Alliance.
At a joint press conference this morning, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim said the leaders will now take the proposal back to their respective parties for approval.
Anwar, who was flanked by DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, said that the People’s Alliance will hold its maiden conference after the proposal has been endorsed by all three parties.
