Mahathir returning to Malaysian politic?

Mahathir returning to Malaysian politic?

Malaysakini’s report, Mahathir may return to center stage, is quite scary to say the least.
Even a foreign diplomat has his reservation…. the same report quoted:
“Mr Najib is a carbon copy of Dr Mahathir and we fear in his rise to power a possible return of iron-fisted rule and intolerance for dissent and curbs on he political opposition,” said a diplomat with a European mission, on condition of anonymity.
On the local front, only Zaid Ibrahim had the gut to speak his mind:
“Najib is smart and articulate but to change the course of Umno, he has to be brave and why …read more

Mahathir can fix the problem?

Mahathir can fix the problem?

Malaysiakini reported:
Umno vice-president Muhyiddin Yassin said he has invited former party president Dr Mahathir Mohamad to rejoin Umno to help “fix the problems” afflicting the party.
First of all, Mahathir can’t re-join UMNO. UMNO was declared an illegal party by the court during Mahathir’e era and from his own doing. Mahathir can only re-join UMNO Baru, the same party he quit to express his displeasure on Pak Lah.
Secondly, Muhyiddin forgot (hmmm Melayu mudah lupa) that this mess that he asked Mahathir to fix are actually inherited by Pak Lah from Mahathir when the latter was forced to …read more

Mahathir mudah lupa: Is he really so?

Mahathir mudah lupa: Is he really so?

Who would forget Mahathir’s famous poem Melayu mudah lupa (Literally translated: Malay forgets easily)? This poem will be remembered for generations to come, partly due to the fact that Malay does forget easily, but the more cynical reason is that the poem has for sometimes been used against Mahathir himself by a lot of his critics thanks to Mahathir’s own wrong doings.
The most recent mocking of Mahathir’s famous “Melayu mudah lupa” phrase was when the ex-premier testified in the Lingam video inquiry as reported by Malaysiakini:
When quizzed by the commission on matters pertaining to judicial appointments, Mahathir answered several times …read more

Mahathir…. blogger of the year?

Mahathir…. blogger of the year?

Mahathir commanded a lot of love and hatred during his hey days as the Prime Minister of Malaysia… so when he launched his own blog (because the main stream media had shunned him in their reports… kind of getting to taste his own medicine… you know what I mean) a lot of people would be interested to read what he has to say now that he is now an ex-prime minister.
His blog, Che Det dot Com had achieved one million hits in just one month after being launched.
Touching one million hits among bloggers seem to be something to be …read more

Shahrir Abdul Samad said:
The Johor Baru member of Parliament said that while Mahathir was a brilliant person, his resignation however did not seem like a very clever way of bringing about change within the party.
“I feel his actions are weird and not logical,” he added when asked to comment today on Mahathir’s shocking announcement.
Rafidah Aziz said:

UMNO wants to sack Mukhriz but dare not touch Mahathir

UMNO wants to sack Mukhriz but dare not touch Mahathir

Mukhriz’s letter asking Pak Lah to quit drew criticism from it’s members. Now the members are calling for the sacking of Mukhriz from UMNO. UMNO Youth will be calling for a special meeting to discuss the fate of Mukhriz. You see…. it only takes one letter for Mukhriz to be in trouble with the arrogant UMNO…. I say arrogant because UMNO does not allow its members to critize the leaderships. Open your mouth against any UMNO top men and you will get the boot. Ask Zaid Ibrahim and he will let you know. Don’t be surprise UMNO will also sack …read more
