Of Anwar Ibrahim and September 16….

Of Anwar Ibrahim and September 16….

After his failure to deliver September 16 promises, Anwar Ibrahim is still Anwar Ibrahim he used to, but who can blame him? Now he is talking about renewed interest to take over the BN Government this time through Sarawak. For his failure to deliver the anticipated and much talked about September 16 takeover, Anwar just had this to say…
[...]admitted his plan to sign up defecting lawmakers had been a “headache”.
[...]“It is not easy to explain why we couldn’t form the government as there are some matters that I still cannot talk about,” he said.

Why DNA bill is scary….

Why DNA bill is scary….

The DNA bill being pushed through by the BN lawmakers is so scary, not just to Anwar Ibrahim… but also to any Tom, Dick or Harry. Here are some of the reasons:

… the legislation empowers a senior policeman to be the head of the forensic DNA databank.
… clause in the bill allows a policeman to use ‘all means necessary’ when taking non-intimate DNA samples (saliva or hair samples, for instance) from a suspect
… a section that says ‘notwithstanding any written law to the contrary, any information from the DNA databank shall be admissible as conclusive proof of the DNA identification …read more

Tomorrow, on the way to Parliment….

Tomorrow, on the way to Parliment….

If you see something like this tomorrow somewhere on the road leading to parliment house, you know who they are and what they are going there for. I dont expect there will be police outriders accompanying them, but please… with due respect, do give way to them as they are on a national mission.
September 16…. will it be a reality? Pray to God it will for you can’t afford it if it’s not.

Permatang Pauh victory: Will Anwar deliver his end of the bargains?

Permatang Pauh victory: Will Anwar deliver his end of the bargains?

Wan Azizah Wan Ismail won the seat with a 13,388 majority at the March 8 general elections.
By-election 26th August 2008, Anwar got 31,195 votes, Arif Shah, 15,524, Hanafi, 92.
Anwar won, with a majority of 15,671. Lower turnout and yet Anwar won with a much bigger majority.
Pak Lah, Najib, Arif Shah and the BN guys were saying even less majority for Anwar would have meant a moral victory for BN. It must have been another tsunami for Pak Lah and Najib but who know the guys were still fast asleep.
Did someone by the nick name of KJ a.k.a …read more

Sleepless in Singapore: Father-in-Law and Permatang Pauh

It’s 3:28am in Singapore and I am still facing the laptop screen, mixing work and personal things to do. OK I admit I am sleepless maybe due to the fact that I had gone to bed a bit earlier today after finishing my official duty.
But the fact that two significant events had happened while being far away from home left just a little bit of regret in myself but then, life has to go on no matter what.
Me and my wife (and a couple of my kids) had been going back to my hometown in Kota Bharu every weekend for …read more

Judgement day: 26th August 2008

Judgement day: 26th August 2008

To the people of Permatang Pauh, wherever you are… remember this date 26th August 2006.
This is going to be one of the days you will want to remember for the rest of your lives, and possibly by many generations to come.
Please do not forget to apply leave from your busy work schedules and make sure you return to Permatang Pauh on this day, 26th August 2006, and liberate yourselves (hence all Malaysians) from this new way of colonialism inflicted upon all of us not by our consents…. by you-know-who.

Blogging Permatang Pauh by NST

Blogging Permatang Pauh by NST

It’s interesting to see how MSM now is joining the band wagon in adopting blogs as the new communication media.
I am not sure if NST had something similar to Star Online called Citizen’s blogs, but for the upcoming Permatang Pauh by-election, NST had come up with a new blog called Blogging Permatang Pauh to give latest development on the mother of all by-elections where Arif Shah Omar Shah will take on Anwar Ibrahim.
There are six faces displayed on the front page of the blog whom I assume are the bloggers for NST.
I hope the blog will not be …read more

Now Dr Toh, next Gerakan?

Now Dr Toh, next Gerakan?

Dr Toh Kin Woon’ s support for Anwar Ibrahim and his resignation from Gerakan is a living proof that not only UMNO is no longer relevant in this current Malaysian political scenario, but also shows that even the BN coalition is no longer applicable for the component parties.
As Anwar put it:
“We think it’s a good sign. (It shows) people with principles with the BN will finally choose a Pakatan with principles.

Permatang Pauh by-election is not about Anwar winning….

Permatang Pauh by-election is not about Anwar winning….

As a matter of fact, the mother of all by-election is also not about BN-candidate, who ever that unlucky guy is, loosing.
Permatang Pauh by-election is (in my humble opinion), among others, all about (in no particular order):

Whether or not Malaysians believe the second sodomy allegation against Anwar
Whether or not Malaysians really meant it when they delivered 5 Malaysian states to the Pakatan Rakyat in the last general election
Whether or not Malaysians really believe in Pakatan Rakyat
Whether ot not Malaysians have had enough of Barisan Nasional
Whether or not Pak Lah is still fast asleep despite landslide loss in the recent …read more

Sodomy case… full of inconsistencies

Sodomy case… full of inconsistencies

I think by now, the whole world are convinced that this second sodomy charge against Anwar Ibrahim is yet another fabricated issue to stop Anwar’s return into politics. The whole drama, just like the first sodomy case many years back is full of inconsistencies and controversies… but laughable even by kids standards.
First, Najib said he never met Saiful Bukhari. Then he said he did meet Saiful Bukhari but that was on scholarsip application matters…. never mind the fact that Saiful Bukhari is a college drop-out after performing badly in his tertiary study.
Later, Anwar was arrested one hour before the 2pm …read more
