System to fight mobile phone theft: A long awaited solution from authority

While there is no statistics about it, mobile phones theft in Malaysia must have cost the public millions of dollars. And after so many years, the authorities has finally acted appropriately. The move by the government to setup the lost and stolen mobile phone database and completely disable the phone may have come a little bit late compared to other countries, but as the saying goes.. better late than never. I like to thank and congratulate the Government and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for taking this initiative to protect the interest of the public.

With this preventive measure taken by the authorities, I am confident the sale of lost and stolen mobile phones in Malaysia will be severly affected forcing the thieves to look for real jobs.. I hope.
