Suddenly there are 7 issues affecting the Indians: Samy Vellu biadap?
Samy Vellu had all along been very defensive and always mantained that there are no problems between the Government and the Indian community. Even after the Hindraf demonstration, the Works Minister still refused to accept the fact that there are problems need to be sorted out between MIC, hence the Government, and the Malaysian Indian community. The latest denial was when he claimed more than one million Indian devotees had visited Batu Caves temples, a proof that Malaysian Indians did not boycot the 2008 Thaipusam celebration at Batu Caves.
So far so good… he has been consistent with his denial syndrom, right? Wrong!
Malaysiakini latest report:
There are seven critical issues that have caused uneasiness among the Indian community and the government must immediately take steps to address them.
The seven are:1. an equitable participation in the share market;
2. Indian intake in public universities;
3. better employment opportunities, especially in the public sector;
4. increase the number of government scholarships;
5. greater access to entrepreneurship training and micro-credit loans;
6. an effective urban poverty eradication programme; and.
7. the establishment of a dedicated mechanism to monitor and evaluate the delivery of public sector services in a just and fair manner.
MIC president S Samy Vellu, in listing out these seven grouses, urged the government to resolve these issues immediately as they have hindered the party’s efforts to ensure the upward mobility of the Indians, Bernama reported.
“The Indians have very high expectations and are demanding from MIC greater inclusion, access and their rights in the socio-economic development on par with the other communities,” he said at the MIC special convention for branch chairmen at the Putra World Trade Centre today.

So now Samy Vellu admitted there problems after all. Ayo…yo… Samy…. so what happened to all the developments programs and the money the BN had allocated to the Indian community development programs before? Who did you distribute the money to?
Can Samy Vellu be considered as ‘biadap’ when he had been saying there are no problems all along and suddenly list seven issues for the Government to resolve immediately? Pak Lah… what say you?
