Shanghai Delight: Halal Chinese takeaway restaurant in Kuala Lumpur
I blogged about Zenith Restaurant which is a halal Chinese Restaurant located in Desa Petaling, just outside of Kuala Lumpur. I just found out about another halal Chinese restaurant right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Shanghai Delight is a halal Chinese restaurant owned by non-Chinese. Located in Bukit Bintang, the increasingly popular Shanghai Delight Restaurant offers not only dine-in option, but also takeaway and home delivery services.
If you love halal Chinese food, there’s a restaurant in Bukit Bintang that provides takeaways and home delivery. LEE SHI-IAN drops by the halal eatery.
It is not only halal but offers takeaway and home delivery services.
Even the dishes on the menu are reminiscent of the numerous Chinese takeaway restaurants in Europe and Australia as it offers kung pao chicken or beef and egg fried rice.
Shanghai Delight owner Teima Yaseen said she had a love for Chinese food but found it hard to just drop by any Chinese restaurant in the city because most of the time, it was not halal.
“That was when I thought it would be a brilliant idea to open a Chinese restaurant which offered delivery services as there are many expatriates living around the Golden Triangle area,” she said.
“The menu has been tailored to suit everyone’s taste including Muslims because it is completely pork-free. However, to ensure that the dishes retain a Chinese style and flavour, the cooking team was trained by a Chinese chef,” Teima added.
The restaurant opened on Dec 15 last year and has received a good mixture of customers including Indians, Malays and expatriates.
