Pak Lah latest cost cutting measures proved that the government can save

Pak Lah just announced some cost cutting measures within the BN Government. Entertainment allowances for ministers and deputy ministers will be slashed. Paid holidays will be limited to Asean destinations only. Other measures include freeze on new government posts and purchase of assets such as cars, furnitures and computers…. just to name a few.

These measure just proved that the BN Government can save money if it wants. But unfortunately, our leaders had no political will to institute significant cost cutting measures like what had been practiced by Nik Aziz and Kelantan PAS Government which had recently been slowly emulated by by Pakatan Rakyat Governments in the five states it governs.

However BN’s recent poll defeat must have had some effect on the ’sleeping’ Pak Lah. But there are a lot more Pak Lah can do…. much more that will result in many billions more that can be saved which if done properly, would not require the Government to raise the fuel price that will cause major hardship to people from all walk of lives, save of course some high flying corporate figures and politicians who had been amassing wealth at the expense of the people…. you know who am I talking about.

Pak Lah, if you are serious, please consider the followings:

1. Scrap all the economic corridors that have been planned for it will only benefit the cronies more than the people
2. Scrap all mega projects because that also would enrich the cronies more than it will benefit the people
3. Scrap or reduce toll charges and de-classify the toll agreements that are so one-sided.
4. Declare all income and expenses of Petronas and make Petronas answerable to Parliment
5. No more bail out of failed projects using peoples money.
6. Stop the corruption in your government at once, free the judiciary… yes this will also save cost
7. And many more you can do Pak Lah… you know it very well. Please don’t pretend to be naive of what you can do. If you are clueless…. go and ask Anwar and he will tell you. If you hate Anwar…. ask the people they will also tell you.
