Looking Forward To 2007…. A Successful Year
That’s it. 11 more days to go for 2006 after which it will be history. And 2007 is going to be a reality soon. Another year has passed by and another year is going to come by. 2007…what does the future hold for me in terms of blogging and Kuala Lumpur is Home? Good question… I am kind of talking to myself here. I can’t tell the future but I can certainly plan to make the future be a bright one for me and Kuala Lumpur is Home. Whether or not those plans can materialise is another story altogether. There is a saying that goes… If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail. Not… that’s not what I have in mind for myself and Kuala Lumpur is Home.
I have whole agenda and resolution for everything.. well almost all… around me, myself and I, for the year 2007, but lets look at blogging specifically. Looking at the past, I started blogging only a few months back, August 2006 to be exact. And what an encouraging run I think I have had for myself as a blogger. I started blogging as hobby and after only about 5 months, I had turn to paid blogger, blogging for such sites as Gadgetell, Profy and now Kuala Lumpur is Home. I don’t know about others but for me that is quite an impressive achievement. Next year, in addition to Adsense, I can foresee that a growing portion of my blogging income will be contributed by paid posts, event though Adsense now contributes very little. I also have to work on my traffic and page ranking to tap on more opportunities in pay per posts market. I am having a lot more challenging year ahead as blogger as I now write for quite a few blog but I should be able to get that under my control. I can’t afford to surf aimlessly on the world wide web, I am coming up with a whole-week timetable of what to write in which blog and I have to follow that schedule as strictly as I can so that fresh and relevant content is assured. Planning is key thing here.
For Kuala Lumpur is Home, there is not much happening yet this year since this blog is only launched 3rd Dec 2006, but I guess it had achieved something special despite being barely one month old. I am planning to promote this blog more aggressively in 2007. Home Turf Media also has great plan for all blogs under its umbrella and all I can say is that I am very optimistics we can achieve something of considerable values in 2007. For Kuala Lumpur is Home, there will be more reviews covering topics such as hotels and accomodation, interesting places, latest news, local events, foods, my personal experience and a lot more about Kuala Lumpur specifically and Malaysia generally. You can also look forward to interesting podcasts and videos that are planned to give you a first hand experience of what Kuala Lumpur can offer you.
All in all, I look forward to a fruitful year in 2007. The basics elements for succesful blogging in 2007 had been laid down now in 2006 and it will just take some diligent follow up to ensure 2007 is a good year for me and Kuala Lumpur is Home.
This post is written specifically for Problogger’s Group Writing Project, and this is my second time participating in the group project organized by Darren Rowse of Problogger. Check out my posts for my first time involvement in the Group Writing Project. I must say, the excitement I got from just being part of the project was just too good to be true and simply couldn’t be expressed in words. If you own a blog, you should not miss the project that gives you excitement and joy not so much on the prizes to be won, but the sense of togetherness and friendship in the blogosphere and the traffic that it brings to all blogs involved in the project. Darren Rowse, you rock.

I know many bloggers are signing up for the Payperpost program. It will be interesting to see how PPP will evolve blogging in the coming months.

@jeniffer: Despite many controversies around PPP, it will be here to stay and will benefit everyone. PPP is nothing more than earners earning income by blogging about a topic… very much the same way salesmen promotes product at the mall where they also got paid… we do it in blogs. Get your hands on PPP and your blog will change from broke-ass student to not-so-broke-ass students LOL
@Andrew: Thanks for dropping by here… :) Your site looks awesome too… and I like your post on blog comment. And I noticed you are from Spore…. we wouldnt have met outside and yet we now know each other… thats the power of blogging.. C U around.
