VK Lingam video: Pak Lah says yes to royal commission after 58 days
It took our beloved Prime Minister Pak Lah a long 58 days to finally say yes to a royal commission.
“Didn’t we say before that we would look at the panel report first? We’ve seen it and we feel it is necessary that we establish (the commission),” he said.

He is surely a slow thinker at that and so was the 3-member panel , but as we always say it is better late than never. Its too bad that Pak Lah didn’t see advantages of forming a royal commission right from the start. Pity Pak Lah for he has accumulated more than enough damages for himself just from the Lingam video scandal alone. He is practically engineering his own downfall. Had he agreed to the royal commission the first day he saw the video, Pak Lah would have been lauded with praises from the opposition parties and the people at large. Bar Council wouldn’t have had to walk for justice. Pak Lah’s dented image would have been a little bit better, what more with other bad news about other screw-ups within his BN government, Pak Lah actually could not afford any mishandling of national issues. But the man is under tremendous pressure and he had commited mistake upon mistake with a lot of recent issues.
Now that he had finally redeemed his pride a little bit, people are still waiting to see if he will create another mess with the formation of a royal commission to investigate the Lingam video. Will the terms of reference be what a royal commission should really have or will it be just another white wash in the making? Stay tuned…
