Kuala Lumpur to get it’s own Hyde Park

by CJCM on June 18th, 2007

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Zulhasnan Rafique has good a news today for Kuala Lumpur city folks. Yes, you are getting a new 162ha Kuala Lumpur city park, to be modelled after London’s Hyde Park and New York’s Central Park. The location is not known yet but the relevant ministry will be announcing it in about a month’s time.

I hope the location will be appropriately selected and the infrastructure planning around the park will be splendid.

He said the proposed park was the government’s commitment to ensuring that greenery would continue to be a part of the capital.

Currently there are already a few public parks around Kuala Lumpur where the citizens spend their weekends with their loved ones. Titiwangsa Lake Garden and Perdana Lake Garden are the two most visited parks especially over the weekend.
