Jeff Ooi joining DAP: Is this for real?
I found this entry in today’s Star Online:
Blogger Ooi to join DAP and contest in polls
PETALING JAYA: Prominent blogger Jeff Ooi is set to join the DAP and contest in the general election.
The DAP is planning a “welcoming ceremony” on Tuesday to announce his crossover from blogosphere to party politics. Top party leaders as well as some of Ooi’s blogger friends will attend the ceremony.
Ooi, in his 50s, is an e-business consultant but is better known for his blog which focuses on current issues with an emphasis on politics. He is also an expert of sorts on the new media.
According to sources, the party has Ooi in mind for the Puchong parliamentary seat as well as the Kinrara state seat.

I tried some search on Google only to find a couple of entries in USJ Web Forum. No other entries in other blogs, not even in Jeff Ooi’s blog which was last posted on July 25th 2007. (Update: I made a mistake here, there was an entry in Jeff Ooi’s blog here. My apology for the error.. :) )I also checked out Malaysiakini and there was no news about this either. Is this for real? Hopefully Jeff will clarify the matter soonest possible.
My two cents? I think Jeff Ooi has more credibility if he is not aligned to any political party although he can be a member of one. Having said that, his crossing to any political party could be a tremendous boost to the party. Just my personal thoughts… what say you?

Aiyah, you are out dated and news to you.
Right under your nose and you cannot spot it. It was boldly mentioned in Jeff’s entry on July 24 o7

Jeff Ooi joing DAP?
BIG MISTAKE!!N IF TRUE.
BUT… I DON’T TRUST ‘STAR ONLINE’.
The Star is an MCA paper. Anything written by Star about DAP is propaganda and dirty news.
Star is out to csow seeds of doubt on Jeff’s neutrality in political discourse.
Until Jeff says so… best to disregard.

That’s ok. After what RPK gone thru, I understand.
UMNO chaps have really created a paranoia among bloggers.
It reminds me of the most open nation in the world that has become the most paranoid at airports after 9/11. and most scared nation inthe world.. thus achieving the very objective intended in the first place
