Engaging and embracing at the BUM2007 gathering, Lake View Club

Despite sustaining some injury on my ribs when I was doing a DIY project at home yesterday, I managed to attend the Blogger United Malaysia 2007 gathering held yesterday evening at the Lake View Club Subang Jaya.

I had fallen off the aluminium ladder and landed my ribs on a chair. The chair was badly damaged and my ribs now are severely in pain even by slight movement. I had asked my wife to send me there as I could not drive. Luckily an X-ray showed no fractured bones or anything like that but I was at the BUM2007 on pain killers. I could not move freely so I just confined myself to the table where I seat… which I later found out was reserved for VIPs…. shame on me… :) But I sat right next to Tian Chua during dinner and among others seated together with us was Tony Pua and Rocky. Coversations were lively while I was quietly nursing my injury and pain.

Other bloggers and non-bloggers seen engaging and embracing were… Jeff Ooi, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Pok Ku, Pak Idrus, Zorro, Soh Chee Wen, Citizen Nades, non-blogger Sonia from CIJ, All-Blogs exco members, journalists from Malaysiakini and foreign newspapers, Maverick, Mahaguru, Kugan, Stanley, Shar101, Shanghai Fish, Big Dog, Marina Mahathir, Nuraina… to name a few. Please accept my apology for missing other names here… I hope the organizing committee can publish full names in the BUM2007 website. Thanks and congratulation to the organizing committee of BUM2007 gathering Desi, Howsy, Lucia, Li Tsin, Nat, Mob1900, and Jed Yoong for job well done.

Due to my limited moveability I didn’t have opportunity to ask someone to snap my pictures with other bloggers. Nevertheless I have some pictures I like to share with all of you. I also have some videos of speeches by forum panels which are being uploaded to YouTube but those will have to be posted separately once the uploading process completed for all 13 short videos.

Bloggers all ears…. Bloggers United will accept membership from all anonymous and non-anonymous bloggers, but will only protect non-anonymous bloggers if needed…. Rocky explained.

Sonia confessed she is not a blogger…yet….but she made good points about independent journalism… well done Sonia.

The organizing committees are standing at the back…. TQ for job well done.

They told us to bring a proof of payment so Icaptured the Maybank2u payment on camera but they never asked for it.. :)
