Emergency motion to debate RPK’s allegation will be turned down?

by CJCM on June 23rd, 2008

Comes tomorrow, Lim Kit Siang’s emergency motion to debate Raja Petra Kamaruddin’s (RPK) latest allegations against several high profile individuals linking them to Altantuya murder case will be shot down by the Speaker, that is what I am predicting. The reason? Well the Speaker has three reasons to deny the motion. It is not definite, it is not urgent and it is not of public importance. Well, it doesn’t matter what is the reason for rejecting the motion I guess, but the likely reason by the Speaker would be it is not definite and that the case is already being pursued in the court.

It doesn’t matter the fact that:

“The credibility and legitimacy of the Abdullah premiership and government will suffer a mortal blow if the prime minister, deputy prime minister and Rosmah continue to remain silent on Raja Petra’s bombshell allegations in his statutory declaration,” Lim said in the motion.
