Election fever starts in Malaysia
Election Commission today announced 8th March 2008 as the date for the 12th Malaysian general election day and 24th Feb 2008 as the nomination day. The political parties will get about three weeks of campaigning period which could be a bit too short from my personal point of view. But the good thing is 8th March 2008 is the start of Malaysian school holidays so expect the turn out for the 12th election to be good.. I hope so.
I will be voting in Kelantan and from my past experience, election day for Kelantenese staying in other states is just like Hari Raya where all major highways leading to Kelantan will be full of cars, very much like going back for Hari Raya…. ever wonder why the present State Government manage to stay this long?
