Malaysiakini…. the independent news portal had exposed another Malaysian scandal, this time involving the Tourism Ministry. The Ministry officials that are suppposed to maintain Malaysia’s good name in the worldwide tourism industry had instead brought shame to this beloved nation we call Malaysia.
The ambitious Visit Malaysia Year campaign introduced by the Malaysian Government involves a lot of public money and provides lucrative business opportunities for travel-related companies lucky enough to be selected in promoting the program. Exclusive revelation by Malaysiakini about Eye On Malaysia financial trouble is indeed mind boggling.
Comprising of 42 gondolas, the giant plaything would allow visitors to experience a 360-degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur during a 12-minute ride that goes 60 metres high. Tickets are priced at RM15 for adults and RM12 for children.
It is expected to be around until the end of the Visit Malaysia Year campaign next August.

I am so frustrated witht the recent development surrounding the Tourism Ministry lately. Yes… I am talking about the very ministry that is entrusted to tell good things about the country and promote Malaysia as one of the top tourist destinations in the world.

Are you in Kuala Lumpur this Saturday 6th Jan 2007? If you do, you should not miss this event. It’s the grand launching of the Visit Malaysia Yesr 2007 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The location is at Lake Titiwangsa where the lates tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur, Eye On Malaysia will also be launched. The giant Ferris wheel has 42-airconditioned gondolas which will offer a bird’s eye view of Kuala Lumpur to the visitors.
