So Tony Fernandes finally gets what he had wished for so long. AirAsia will finally get the chance to operate the profitable Kuala Lumpur – SIngapore route. Although allowed to operate only two flights on off-peak hours, that should be a good start for AirAsia to start a price war that would see more demand for the cheapest air travel service in Malaysia ans Singapore.
The question remains… would the business passengers, who are the majority of the daily travels between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, willing to put up with delays, which is synonymous with AirAsia?

Tony Fernandez did it again. Tune Hotel will be providing budget accomodation for budget travellers right at the doorsteps of LCCT in KLIA.
Malaysia will have the world’s first budget hotel housed in an international airport when Tune Hotels.com – the hotel chain of budget airline AirAsia – opens in the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at KL International Airport next year.
Its deputy chief executive officer Mark Lancaster said in a press conference here yesterday that the hotel would offer a five-star sleeping experience at one-star price for the 20 million-odd passengers who transit at the LCCT each year.

Exclusive revelation by Malaysiakini about Eye On Malaysia financial trouble is indeed mind boggling.
Comprising of 42 gondolas, the giant plaything would allow visitors to experience a 360-degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur during a 12-minute ride that goes 60 metres high. Tickets are priced at RM15 for adults and RM12 for children.

AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandez will have to do more magic to beat Jetstar when it comes to low cost travel between Sydney and Kuala Lumpur. Tony had just announced the plan for AirAsia’s long-haul operation AirAsiaX to be the first low cost airline to operate between Australia and Malaysia but Jetstar apparently had already offered low cost travel between Sydney and Kuala Lumpur for merely RM88.00 one way. Wow…. with this kind of airfare, you (yes…… you who are reading this post) and I could be on our way to Sydney anytime sooner than we ever thought.
