RPK, Theresa Kok, Tan: Another black day for Malaysia

Three people arrested under ISA. Raja Petra Kamaruddin, or RPK as he is popularly known, arrested for comments allegedly insulting Islam and Prophet Muhammad that had appeared in his blog Malaysia Today. Bear in mind, weeks before his ISA arrest, RPK had published explosive article linking certain high profile individuals to the Altantuya murder case. The article that contained allegedly offensive comments which caused his site to be banned by the authority and subsequently his arrest under ISA, co-incidently, had been published very much earlier in the famous news blog that had attracted millions of visitors all over the world. …read more

No Sedition Act against Ahmad Ismail: I concur

No Sedition Act against Ahmad Ismail: I concur

While I agree stern actions should be taken against the recalcitrant Ahmad Ismail over his racist remarks against the Chinese, he should never be charged under the draconian Sedition Act we have all resented.
A number of civil society groups have opposed the use of the Sedition Act against Umno Bukit Bendera division chief Ahmad Ismail.
“The use of the Sedition Act legitimises the draconian act which has long been condemned by civil society and opposition parties.
“Rather than use it to further curb the freedom of expression – whoever the accused – the Umno politician and his colleagues who backed …read more

Mahathir can fix the problem?

Mahathir can fix the problem?

Malaysiakini reported:
Umno vice-president Muhyiddin Yassin said he has invited former party president Dr Mahathir Mohamad to rejoin Umno to help “fix the problems” afflicting the party.
First of all, Mahathir can’t re-join UMNO. UMNO was declared an illegal party by the court during Mahathir’e era and from his own doing. Mahathir can only re-join UMNO Baru, the same party he quit to express his displeasure on Pak Lah.
Secondly, Muhyiddin forgot (hmmm Melayu mudah lupa) that this mess that he asked Mahathir to fix are actually inherited by Pak Lah from Mahathir when the latter was forced to …read more

Field trip to BN MPs…. another coincidence ha ha ha

Field trip to BN MPs…. another coincidence ha ha ha

The BN top shots had been saying that they are confident that there will be no crossovers from BN MPs to PR comes September 16 as the MPs had pledged their undivided supports to Pak Lah and BN. Why then, a lot of BN MPs are invited for field trips leading to September 16? Hmmm… another coincidence I guess. Looks like this BN is so good at planning for coincidence ehh?
He he he…. whatever the BN says, clearly they are scared of the possible crossovers. They just trying to appear calm and cool. Imagine this response from a couple …read more

Honesty…. is hardly ever heard

Honesty…. is hardly ever heard

Here is my dedication to Pak Lah, Najib, and the latest UMNO Baru ‘pop star’ Ahmad Ismail:
If you search for tenderness
it isn’t hard to find.
You can have the love you need to live.
But if you look for truthfulness
You might just as well be blind.
It always seems to be so hard to give.
Honesty is such a lonely word.
Everyone is so untrue.
Honesty is hardly ever heard.
And mostly what I need from you.
I can always find someone
to say they sympathize.
If I wear my heart out on my sleeve.
But I don’t want some pretty face
to tell me pretty lies.
All I want is someone to …read more

Ahmad Ismail: Why didn’t he apologize?

Ahmad Ismail: Why didn’t he apologize?

First, Pak Lah said Ahmad didn’t mean what he said. Then Najib apologized to the people. Now, why on earth did Ahmad Ismail not apologize for himself? Does it mean that he still stand by his remarks?
If what Ahmad said is seditious and a police reports had been lodged against him, and now Najib said sorry for Ahmad, in a way admitting what Ahmad said was wrong… bear in mind at this juncture Ahmad had neither apologised nor retracted his seditious remark…. what is taking the police so long to act? Don’t we have the same police force who were …read more

Ungrateful BN leaders….

Ungrateful BN leaders….

I was reading this piece from Malaysiakini titled ‘Khairy, look who got buried‘ (go on to click on the link, you need not be a subscriber to read this piece) and I am particularly attracted to an entry by one Dr SK, which I though should be known not just to the people of Permatang Pauh, but also to the whole world.
Dr SK: To all of you who voted for BN, your man Arif and none of the BN big guns or supporters had the grace to attend the announcement of the results of the Permatang Pauh by-election. ‘Thank you’ …read more

Tomorrow, on the way to Parliment….

Tomorrow, on the way to Parliment….

If you see something like this tomorrow somewhere on the road leading to parliment house, you know who they are and what they are going there for. I dont expect there will be police outriders accompanying them, but please… with due respect, do give way to them as they are on a national mission.
September 16…. will it be a reality? Pray to God it will for you can’t afford it if it’s not.
p/s: Sorry, I am so lousy at graphic design, but I hope the picture above will convey what I want to say.

Permatang Pauh victory: Will Anwar deliver his end of the bargains?

Permatang Pauh victory: Will Anwar deliver his end of the bargains?

Wan Azizah Wan Ismail won the seat with a 13,388 majority at the March 8 general elections.
By-election 26th August 2008, Anwar got 31,195 votes, Arif Shah, 15,524, Hanafi, 92.
Anwar won, with a majority of 15,671. Lower turnout and yet Anwar won with a much bigger majority.
Pak Lah, Najib, Arif Shah and the BN guys were saying even less majority for Anwar would have meant a moral victory for BN. It must have been another tsunami for Pak Lah and Najib but who know the guys were still fast asleep.
Did someone by the nick name of KJ a.k.a …read more

New petrol price: The flip flop continues

New petrol price: The flip flop continues

It’s not that we should be complaining about the new lower petrol and diesel prices just announced by the ‘people-caring’ (notice the inverted quotes?) Flip-Flop BN Government… but its the flip flop decision-making from the flip flop BN Government lead by Mr Nice-Flip-Flop-Guy that we all should worry about.
Didn’t Mr Nice-Flip-Flop-Guy’s BN Government say that any new fuel price will only be effected from September 1 and that no new price will be announced prior to September 1? The decision do effect new prices only on September 1 (or I assume on every 1st of the month for that …read more
