I read in Malaysiakini that another coalition to counter the lies spread by mainstream media and demand for press freedom and independence had been formed. Appropriatelly named GASAK which stands for Gerakan Anti-Salah Maklumat (literally Movement for Anti Mis-information), the movement will be pressing for three main objectives:
1. Stop the mis-information
2. Balanced reporting for all parties
3. Editorial independence
At the same time GASAK also launched a campaign to boycot the mainstream media that will be promoted nationwide in their effort to educate the public about the lies spread by the Government-controlled media within Malaysia.

Police roadblocks, police warnings, arrests of top leaders and the prospects of being arrested, fired with tear gas did not deter about 20,000 of Malaysian Indian to show up at a mass rally organized by Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf). The rally was meant to petition the British High Commission for Her Majesty’s support in their bid to sue the British Government for bringing the Indian labours to Malaysia and exploited them for 150 years. Hindraf is seeking a total of RM14 trillion as compensations.

Now, which political party do you think had the ability to influence the government officials to approve project? Your guess is as good as anyone’s guess. But let’s see if the police will probe this case and bring those responsible to book.

So Tony Fernandes finally gets what he had wished for so long. AirAsia will finally get the chance to operate the profitable Kuala Lumpur – SIngapore route. Although allowed to operate only two flights on off-peak hours, that should be a good start for AirAsia to start a price war that would see more demand for the cheapest air travel service in Malaysia ans Singapore.
The question remains… would the business passengers, who are the majority of the daily travels between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, willing to put up with delays, which is synonymous with AirAsia?

Despite all the brouhaha about Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor’s status as Malaysia’s first astronaut, I am proud to say Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor is another example of a truly Malaysia Boleh spirit and Kuala Lumpur is Home proudly declares Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor as the first ever Malaysia’s astronaut to have explored the outer space, Insyaallah, if the voyage takes place as planned.

It is a slap in the face for Pak Lah and the other gang in the BN-coalition. This Gerakan Chief at least has the guts to tell Pak Lah to get real and live in real world…. but I am not sure how Pak Lah would take this. It would be interesting to see the next development following this call by Koh Tsu Koon. But knowing Pak Lah, it is probably safe to assume nothing will happen from this call by Gerakan.

I should have been there but I could not due to office matters, but my heart was in Putrajaya the whole morning. As soon as the clock hits 12.30 noon, I quickly drove to Putrajaya, praying that the march was still not over maybe due to FRUs and the police stopping them from proceeding. But Allah did not answer my prayer this time.
