PC freaks in Kuala Lumpur will have another opportunity to throng the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center yet again this weekend. The Kuala Lumpur leg of the bargain-filled PC Fair 2008 will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center from 11th – 13th April 2008. The fair will also be held in four states during the same period.

The PIKOM PC Fair 2007 (III) started 30th Nov 2007 and will end tomorrow 16th December 2007. I spent the whole morning at the Kuala Lumpur’s leg of PIKOM PC Fair 2007 (III) held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) last Sunday. The three-times a year fair (used to be held annualy) is just getting bigger every year… if you attend the one at the KLCC, be prepared to walk for kilometers to cover the whole lot of booths selling nothing else but IT stuff.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry had announced today that their undecover enforcements officers will be posing as buyers to nab computer dealers selling PCs pre-loaded with counterfeit software. The operations will kick-off in Klang Valley first and will gradually be extended nationwide.
How will this affect the sales of the PCs especially for the home consumer market? If enforced rigorously and strictly, I certainly believe the sales of PCs in Malaysia will be greatly affected.
