It has been a long 2-week absence from blogging since I left for my home town in Kota Bharu for Aidil Fitri vacation. I was back a few days ago but lots of thing kept me busy so please accept my apology for the 2 week hiatus.

During my recent trip back to Kelantan, I stopped by at this very down to earth Haji Ramli Restaurant in Kg. Pek, Machang, Kelantan.
Famous for its mee rebus (popularly known as Mee Kg. Pek), Restoran Haji Ramli has always been our favourite place to satisfy our hungry stomach after almost 10 hours travelling in the car (approximately another 1 hour needed to reach Kota Bharu from Kg Pek, Machang). Blogging about Malaysian politic is not only tiring, but also makes you hungry. So I decided to go out and have something for dinner. After thinking it through, my family decided to try something new for us… Chinese style meals. But where to find a halal Chinese restaurant in Kuala Lumpur? Well not terribly hard I’d say… thanks to Google. A quick internet search shows there is one in Desa Petaling, which is not too far from our place. During my previous journey back to Kuala Lumpur from Kelantan, I actually made a detour to Seberang Takir first before continuing our journey to Paka for that nice spicy fried chicken with steamed rice. We decided to stop in Seberang Takir so that we can buy this nice keropok lekor we had bought during our previous journey to Kuala Terengganu not long time ago.

After that shocking landslide victory of Barisan Rakyat over Barisan National last weekend, I made my way back to Kuala Lumpur via the east coast…. so I passed by the Terengganu State. After spending about one hour in Dungun with my son who is studying there, we continue our journey and reached Paka town at about 8.30pm just nice for dinner. I actually planned my trip to arrive in Paka at that time because of this nice 24-hour restaurant in Paka, which is famous for its Spicy Chicken Steamed Rice (Nasi Kukus Ayam Berempah).

Lontong loving folks, especially around Klang would have been very familiar with this little food joint already. I almost forgot about this little place which is located in the food court next to Pasar Jawa in Klang, until this morning when I was on my way back from Pulau Indah via Klang. Since it was still quite early in the morning and my stomach was hungry, I decided to stop by Lontong Klang and had breakfast there. I first knew about this locally produced halal organic chicken from a Majalah 3 show a few months ago and had been a regular customer of this halal product.
The next day, I went to the outlet which is located in Taman Nirwana and there were long queue at the shop to buy the chicken. Dr Zainol also mentioned that there were about 200 people at his farm the same morning…. all were eager to find out what is this halal organic chicken is all about.

Folks….. I have tried this before and believe me this Made-in-Kelantan Royal Murtabak is good. At RM11 per piece it is quite expensive but it’s so thick, big and yummy you’d rather pay RM11 for one of these instead of RM3 for three or so of other murtabaks. Hmmm… I can’t wait to go back to Kelantan this coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri and enjoy these great stuff. Thanks to the Star for featuring this murtabak in today’s edition of Star Online.
