I read the Star Online today and the following was what have been agreed by the counsels representing both parties:
…both parties agreed to “henceforth not publish any articles, comments or posts regarding the dispute presently before the High Court” that may prejudice a fair trial.
What does it mean? To me it would probably mean that from now onwards, Rocky’s Bru blog would be like a deserted place on the blogosphere. I was missing in action for the last few days due to family commitment and a lot had happened since Jeff and Rocky were dragged to court by NST. Here are some of the important points from the updates gathered from various sources:

1. Today was set for hearing of the injunction against me.

Well it depends on who you talking to I guess. But let’s look at what ‘defamation’ means. According to Concise Oxford Dictionary 1-th Edition, ‘defame’ means ‘damage the good reputation of’. So its all about reputation. I would’nt want to talk about the other four individuals who had served legal papers on the bloggers, but lets examine if NST had any reason to believe it had a good reputation, hence the lawsuit. Jeff Ooi is an outspoken Malaysian blogger. And so is Ahirudin Attan a.k.a Rocky. Their blog articles seem always to revolve around Malaysian politics. Being politic there are always something fishy to talk about. Someone couldn’t stomach what were written in Jeff’s and Rocky’s blogs, so they take it to the court, despite the fact that one of the suing party is actually a national newspaper. A national mainstream newspaper, pooling resources with four others….. sued two poor bloggers for speaking their minds.
