AirAsia CEO Celebrates While Passengers Stranded in Kota Bharu

by CJCM on December 19th, 2006

Tony Fernandez celebrates while passengers strandedJust few days ago I wrote about AirAsia, which is run based on the low cost carrier model and is doing very well. Last night the CEO of AirAsia Dato Tony Fernandez received Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Malaysia 2006 Award for his feat developing AirAsia to what it is today.

While he was celebrating with the award, one of his aircrafts caused major havoc in Kota Bharu, where my home town is. Apparently, Flight AK6329 was taking off from Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Kota Bharu when the plane veered off the runway and was stranded. The mishap caused delays not only to AirAsia but also Malaysian Airline flights. Unfortunately, my daughter was also in the same flight from Kota Bharu. She returned to Kuala Lumpur today on another flight which was also delayed from the scheduled 3.00pm flight.

Come on Tony, do celebrate your achievement, but you should also do something on your services especially flight delays which seems to be synonymous with AirAsia. People fly AirAsia because it’s cheap but we were surprise that regular delays are part of the packages.
