Adopting new media for the wrong reasons
I had blogged about how BN is so lousy at adopting new media such as blogs. This is because they are doing it for the wrong reasons. Prior to 12th general election, BN had setup a BN 2008 Campaign site and you can read my comment about how pathetic the site was. I also mentioned about how BN had taken off the interactive features of the new electronic media offered by blogs and online media in that campaign site.
Fast forward to post 12th general election, BN politicians seem to be racing with each other to set up their own blogs, all in the name of embracing new technology and adopting new media but obviously this is done for their political survival. Ali Rustam was one of them. As expected, his blog drew a lot of visitors but obviously he was not happy about it because of the comments they had left in his blog “Dari Kacamata Mohd Ali Rustam”. So, the comment feature of the blog had been removed for obvious reason.
An overwhelming majority criticised Mohd Ali - who joined the bandwagon of bloggers this month - as ‘short-sighted’ and ‘playing up racial sentiments’.
On re-visiting the blog 30 minutes later, Malaysiakini found that the comments had been removed and that the comment-posting function had been disabled. However, a screen capture copy was subsequently obtained.

My advice to BN politicians…. quit blogging! Blogs are not meant for you. Stick to Utusan Melayu and the likes for your own goodness’s sake.
