The fishermen’s village of Tok Bali, Kelantan

Tok Bali, Pasir Putih, Kelantan
During my return trip to Kuala Lumpur after my recent Aidil Fitri vacation, I had a very bad feeling that there was going to be a big traffic jam so I didn’t follow the normal routes. Instead, starting my journey at about 11:30am from Pulau Melaka, I head off to Tok Bali through Bachok, and then from Tok Bali I cut accross to Pasir Putih and then merged with the mad traffic in Machang.

Under normal circumstances, the Machang to Kuala Krai trip would have taken no more than 20 minutes but on that fateful day, 4th October 2008, it took me a gruelling 3.5 hours just to reach Kuala Krai. To cut the story short, I didn’t continue my journey through to Kuala Lipis. Instead, from Gua Musang I took the Lojing Cameron Highland route and continue to Simpang Pulai exchange of the PLUS highway. The drive was really smooth where there were no more than 10 cars that I overtook all the way from Gua Musang to Simpang Pulai. The journey after Simpang Pulai was not bad despite a lot of cars arriving from North. I arrived home safely at about 5:00am the next day…. that is a long drive for a return trip from Kota Bharu and with the number of cars increasing every year, I do not expect it to get any better in the future.

In Tok Bali, I spent about 15-20 minutes there taking some beautiful pictures that I would like to share with you. If you ever travel to Kelantan, I would recommend for you to take a short drive to the sunny fishermen’s village of Tok Bali in the Pasir Putih Disctirt to enjoy the scenery there. There are a host of chalets and resorts at and nearby Tok Bali for you to choose from if you would like to stay overnight there where you can also try fishing at Tok Bali. If fishing is not your forte, you can of course take the short cut by buying the fresh fish at the Tok Bali wet market nearby.

The photos below are taken using my Nokia handphone so my apology for the less than satisfactory quality of the pictures taken.
