So UMNO top guns are happy now that the transition plan is earlier than what was originally proposed by Pak Lah. Come March next year, Pak Lah is supposed to transfer power to… of all person, Najib.
Now, have UMNO members forgotten that Najib is also a major part of the problem? Have UMNO members overlooked one of the main issues as part of the overall transition plan… that is who the replacement should be? I heard over the radio this morning that the BN Government has agreed to make September 16 as Malaysia Day. It was also mentioned that this year’s Malaysia Day will be celebrated sometime in October (I can’t remember the date) in Sabah (I think, or was it Sarawak?) because September 16 this year falls in the fasting month. Ha ha ha…. what a reasoning.
This announcement is yet another moral victory for Pakatan Rakyat. I hope Pakatan Rakyat will keep coming up with more good ideas and let the BN Government copy the ideas so that the people can see …read more

How obvious. Sending RPK to Kamunting when his habeas corpus application is about to he heard is yet another desperate act by Pak Lah and his increasingly obselete and irrelevant government.
This is clearly another proof that the ISA is in fact an ‘Ikut Suka Aku’ act continually being misused by the power that be to surpress dissenting views among the opposition parties and their supporters.

Thanks to God Almighty, Teresa, Sheih and Tan had been released. Thanks also for the relentless efforts from various pressure groups who had been very vocal and consistent in their campaigns to repeal ISA. But obviously whatever done so far still not good enough. RPK and 60-odds detainees are still being kept in Kamunting and will likely be celebrating Aidil Fitri and many other festivals behind lockups.
It is really sad for a Home Minister to say ISA is still needed for the people to live in peace and security. Does that mean people in other countries which do not have …read more

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today said he would pass his finance portfolio to his deputy Najib Abdul Razak, while he takes over as defence minister.
Abdullah told a press conference this afternoon that the swap in the cabinet posts will take effect immediately.
The prime minister, who has held the post of finance minister since 2004, said he had informed the cabinet of the decision.

On August 20th 200, I asked myself, is Sheih next blogger to be arrested? Today, 17th September 2008, the question is duly answered, affirmative. Sheih had been arrested under Sedition Act, the same fearful law that was used to nab Bakaq a.k.a Penarik Beca.
For the uninitiated, Sheih is well known as an anti-establishment blogger for a long time, but his trouble only began when he started a blog campaign to fly the Malaysian flag upside down, giving the power that be a ‘good’ excuse to come down hard on Sheih and Sedition Act seems just perfect for that.
