Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

Ramadhan Al-Mubarak is coming again and we should be forever grateful to the Al-Mighty for giving us yet another chance to reap the benefits of Ramadhan, a very special month indeed for all Muslims through out the world.

I would like wish all Muslims, especially my Muslim blog readers, a very happy and meaningful Ramadhan Al-Mubarak. I pray that we will be rewarded plentifully by Allah for our iman and taqwa during this great month where we should concentrate less on worldly affairs and focus on self reformation, spiritual cleansing and enlightenment, establishing a closer link between Allah Almighty and ourselves through our prayers, supplication, charity, good deeds, kindness and extending our helps to others. Ameen.

Salam! I would really like to know what to do during the month of Ramadan. I’m a convert and I really have no idea what to do.All I know is that we need to fast. I can’t go out in the open because my parentsdoesn’tknowabout it. My family’s Catholic for generations. I hope you can help me out. May ALLAH bless us all.Shukran.

CJCM: Wsalam Khadija. There are so many things to do during this holy month. Reading Quran is one of them. You can do this quietly in your room and no one will notice. If you are not yet able to read Quran in Arabic, you can also read the translations. Another option, since you are a convert, how about read more books on Islam? Read more books about Ramadhan itself. Read books about Prophet Muhammad, about 5 pillars of Islam etc etc… Of course, you are encouraged to perform your prayer at the mosque. At the mosque, before and after the prayers you can read more books or read more Quran. In addition you can just ‘zikrullah’ while you work or whatever you are doing, whenever and wherever you are. You can also help others… by charity work, help feed the unfortunate ones, give as much in donation as you can, either in material beings or energy (by helping others) etc etc. If you consult your imam at your local mosque, or yor other Muslim friends, there are many ideas on what you can do, especially being involved in the local Islamic community near your place. Good luck to you. May Allah bless us all. Ameen.
