Balasubramaniam retracted Statutory Declaration? So fast?
What? Not even 24 hours had passed since yesterday’s press conference where P. Balasubramaniam had produced a Statutory Declaration (SD) linking Najib to Altantuya murdercase and now he has retracted the SD already?
Private detective P Balasubramaniam today retracted his stunning statutory declaration which had linked Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to murdered Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu.
The said declaration also had claims that Najib had a sexual relationship with Altantuya and that he was the one who had introduced Altantuya to Abdul Razak Baginda.
Balasubramaniam said that he was forced to make the declaration under duress. At a press conference in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur this morning, he produced a new statutory declaration.
[....]“I wish to retract the first declaration. I was compelled to affirm the July 1 declaration under duress,” he said. He however did not reveal who forced him to affirm the first declaration.

I wonder, who had forced him? I also wonder, how different is the content of his new SD? If he claimed the first SD was made under duress, can we believe that the second SD is not done under duress too? Logically, the retraction of the original SD is the one that can be questionable. Some one must have had pressured him to retract… and to come up with a new SD…. isn’t that considered done under duress too? Who is to believe him now?
Argghhh… I am getting a bit of headache trying to understand this latest bit. It looks to me… so easy to come up with an SD and then retract it? Is this how law works? Maybe we should amend the law to avoid people misusing the SD?
This retraction, to me is even more mind boggling than the original SD itself. Malaysian politic…. semua boleh (everything can)…. no wonder this country is called Bolehland.

Latest news. It seems Bala received a call from the polis after the press conference. His lawyer knows of this and drove him and droped him off at 4.45 pm at the B’fields polis station. And the next day Bala made some retractions. And changed his lawyer. Proberly provided by BN. God knows what they did to him that night. I hope at least he had a decent meal like maggi mee & not sodo mee.
CJCM: Really ehh?
