Fuel hike: Pak Lah said no demonstration?
Pak Lah used to be called Mr. Nice Guy. I bet who ever gave Pak Lah the nice nick name must be screaming out loud now for Pak Lah to resign… as if Pak Lah cares.
So Mr. Nice Guy said that he hopes Malaysians would not hold any demonstration after he announced the steepest fuel price hike in history. Oh yes… Mr Nice Guy hope Malaysian women and men are also Mr, Mrs, and Ms Nice Guy. Wishful thinking Pak Lah.
Malaysiakini latest report:
Thousands of people would be mobilised for a mass protest against the shocking increase in fuel prices at the iconic KLCC Twin Towers on July 12.
Organisers Coalition Against Inflation (Protes) hopes to gather 100,000 people to call for the government to reduce fuel prices to its original levels before the hike today.
“We believe that with such a drastic hike in fuel prices, we will get the support of the masses…
“This is not similar to the Bersih rally. It’s going to be bigger. The impact would be bigger,” said Protes coordinator Dr Hatta Ramli at a press conference today.

Poor Pak Lah…. he inherited Malaysia from Mahathir, who had screwed Malaysia’s economic and political scenes upside down for decades. But Mahathir is no more Prime Minister. Pak Lah is the Prime Minister…. so he takes the blame. But he is not blamed for nothing. He also has a fair share in this ‘troubled’ country. He sure deserves it when his UMNO Baru members are calling him to quit, but he is now using the people to pay up for his mistakes of not pursuing total reforms after he took over from Mahathir, who is having his last laugh on oil price hike.
Will you be there at KLCC comes 12th July 2008? I bet you would… it’s a Saturday.

To begin with, i will definately be there come july12th 2008. As for the PM, i guess he has no right what so ever to tell the rakyat not to demonstrate. its the rakyat’s rights to voice their grouses, afterall he is paid by the rakyat. its not so much for the hike of fuel but the way it was implemented. yes he was given the mandate and trust by the rakyat in the recent election but he failed miserably when it matters. we did not elect a bunch of minister to make a decision for 28 million people without taking any consideration what so ever of the rakyat’s view. honestly wish he will gracefully step down and pave the way for a new mandate to choose a more responsible government. for those who would like to read my suggestion can also view my blog. iskandarvincent.blogspot.com.
