Makkal Osai is back…. PPPA must go!
OK…. Makkal Osai got its permit back. Initially the Home Ministry did not renew its permit, thanks to Printing Presses and Publications Act (PPPA). Why the Home Ministry did not renew Makkal Osai permit? No one knew. No reason was given. The renewal of the permit is absolutely in the hand of the Home Ministry’s. That’s how it works here in Malaysia the Bolehland.
But what makes me wonder is that, until now, there has not been any serious attempt by all journalists to press the BN Government to repeal this act? This is the act that have threatened their livelihoods and money others related to this industry, and yet there is no real fight by the journalists. I wonder why? Do you know?
