Lontong Klang
Lontong loving folks, especially around Klang would have been very familiar with this little food joint already. I almost forgot about this little place which is located in the food court next to Pasar Jawa in Klang, until this morning when I was on my way back from Pulau Indah via Klang. Since it was still quite early in the morning and my stomach was hungry, I decided to stop by Lontong Klang and had breakfast there. It was just after 10am but there were still a lot of crowd at this immensely popular lontong outlet in Klang.
This lontong at Lontong Klang has got to be one of the most delicious lontong I could find in the Kuala Lumpur and Klang area. The lontong is nicely served with compressed rice (nasi impit), boiled egg, squid sambal (just like the nasi lemak sambal), crispy fried tempe (yes… that popular Javanese food made of soya bean), begedil and dessicated coconut that are delicately fried to the brownish colour and smells so good giving a unique taste to this lontong.
At RM3.50 per serving, the lontong is reasonably priced but you have to be quite patient with the long self-service queue. Despite the long queue, it normally doesn’t take that long to reach your turn. If you are crazy about lontong, you can have your favourite meal here everyday as it opens daily until 12noon. On weekends, it opens until midnight, I was informed by the owner.

Salam CJCM,
My first time here coming from Doc TA. Nice blog. Nicer still, is the entry about lontong – my favourite! InsyAllah, I’ll make my way to Klang especially for this. And one good turn deserves another.
If you are ever in Section 14, Petaling Jaya, do drop over the wet market’s eateries. As you enter the eatery, look for the last and 2nd last stall on your right, and you’ll find 2 good lontong stalls. Have not been there for a very long while, but the 2nd last stall’s lontong is a definite must have for me when ever I’m there. Unfortunately, normally by 10am latest, they are sold out. Do give it a try.
CJCM: Wsalam cakapaje… TQ for stopping by. Section 14 is near my office but I hardly go there in the morning. I hope I will remember the lontong stall you talk about in case I am there at the right time in the future. Cheers
