KLiH article on Samy Vellu had been plagiarised

I had just visited Malaysiakini for the latest news that matters and had clicked on one of the link that appeared in the ‘Malaysiakini in Blogs’ section shown above. But to my surprise, when I clicked the link to Vellu News….Part XYZ…. the article that appear in the landing page (to borrow from Lingam’s famous phrase) looks like mine and sound like mine. And after reading it entirely, it is no doubt at all that some one had plagiarised my article that I had posted in this blog on Feb 3rd 2008 carrying the title Suddenly there are 7 issues affecting the Indians: Samy Vellu biadap?.

KLiH oroginal article

I immediately Google the title of the offending article and found out that the same plagiarised article had been reproduced in two other blogs at Malaysian Indian No 1 and Hindraf.org.

Please click to see fullsize images of the plagiarised article.

I would not mind if the author had quoted the entire content of my article and mention my blog as the source of the article as this would be a normal practice in blogging. However the author had committed serious copyright infringement when he had used the entire parts of my article and had added his own sentences to my content, and finally putting his name on the article.

I have sent an email to one of the blogs to remove the offending article but could not leave any coment on the others as I had to register first. I hope the webmasters of all above blogs will read this post and remove the offending article at once.

I would like to remind all bloggers that copying some one else’s articles and reproducing it in its entirety without giving credit to original author is a serious copyright offence and is an unethical blogging practice. If you do not have the capacity to think and produce your own content, please do not bother to blog…. you are just wasting your time and your readers time…. not to mention giving a bad image of yourself on the blogosphere.

I would also like to remind all readers and bloggers that all contents at Kuala Lumpur is Home is exclusively owned by the b5media blog network. Please refrain from copying the entire article and do not edit it in anyway you like to make it look like yours and sound like yours. You are, however, allowed to quote reasonable amount of content from any article here but you should clearly mention the source of the original article with a link to the original post.

To all readers and bloggers, Kuala Lumpur is Home would like to sincerely thank all of you for your support and patronage at Kuala Lumour is Home. We are committed to provide good commentary on all issues affecting Malaysians at large and we look forward to have you visiting us again soon.

Say no to plagiarism and dont forget to vote wisely in the upcoming 12th general election.
