i’m a government sponsored student in germany, as far as i know, we can not be affliated with any political parties be it in malaysia or elsewhere in the world. it is stipulated in the agreement we signed with the gov. but of course this rule does not apply to BN or more correctly UMNO as can be observed in UK, France, and maybe US. the students in germany decided years ago to established a pan germany malaysian students society (as opposed to what is practiced in the UK and Ireland where students in individual universities formed their society) just to block any kind of encroachment by those BN or UMNO goons.
