Status quo remains for Science and Mathematics in English: Didn’t we tell you it wouldn’t work Ministry of Education?

All of us Malaysian know, the decision taken by the Ministry of Education to teach Science and Mathematics in English was in fact done in a hasty way and without any solid evidence that a thorough study was conducted before the policy was implemented. Teachers, parents and concerned citizens raised their concerns to the Ministry of Education but it fell on deaf ears of our ’smart’ politicians and policy-makers, who went ahead anyway with the idea of teaching the two most critical subjects not using our mother tounge language.

Condolescence to Dr Sheikh Muzaphar and family

Condolescence to Dr Sheikh Muzaphar and family

Our deepest condolescence to Dr Sheikh Muszaphar and family on the departure of beloved brother Sheikh Mustapha. Al-Fatihah. May Allah place his soul and body among Muslimins and reward him with Jannah in the life Hereafter.

…. the deceased had an uncanny feeling that he would not see his brother again.
“Although he was proud of his brother becoming the first Angkasawan, he never wanted him to go on the trip. He felt that he would never see him again,”

What written in blogs are rubbish: I agree with Nazri

Here is the latest rubbish being written by bloggers in their blogs. Do you know whose rubbish is this?
Q: Is there a crisis in the judiciary? Why is there a perception of there being one?
A: There isn’t a crisis. It’s a false allegation.
The perception has been created by some people. When I go back to my constituency, nobody talks about it.
When people do not go to the courts to settle their disputes, that’s when there’s a crisis. But I don’t see that.
The few people who are unhappy, make a lot of noise. It is reported, people read, and think there …read more

Indonesia’s National Bloggers Day

Indonesia’s National Bloggers Day

Pesta Blogger Kuala Lumpur 2007…. Can you envisage such an event takes place in Malaysia? And can you imagine the photo above where Pak Lah and Zam sit together with orgainizing committee members such as Rocky, Jeff Ooi, Nat Tan and so on?
No you can’t? Well you are not alone and I don’t blame all of you because it is unlikely to happen here in Malaysia. Not after two Malaysian bloggers were sued for defamation, minister calling bloggers liars, son-in-law calling Malaysian bloggers monkeys, blogger arrested for no apparent reason, strange police report against a prominent blogger and other …read more

Zaid Ibrahim: Are you really serious?

Zaid Ibrahim: Are you really serious?

Zaid Ibrahim’s latest statement as reported by Malaysiakini proved that he is indeeda gemstone among pebbles, as described by M. Bakri Musa.
A Barisan Nasional MP told Parliament today that the government should have formed a royal commission of inquiry into the scandalous Lingam tape.
“This goes to show that the panel is powerless to do anything. I don’t understand. Why didn’t they just form a royal commission of inquiry into the tape?” asked Zaid, adding that the government should have formed the commission if it was serious in a quick resolution to the matter.
“This is not just any allegation, …read more

AirAsia gets to operate KL-Singapore charter flights

So Tony Fernandes finally gets what he had wished for so long. AirAsia will finally get the chance to operate the profitable Kuala Lumpur – SIngapore route. Although allowed to operate only two flights on off-peak hours, that should be a good start for AirAsia to start a price war that would see more demand for the cheapest air travel service in Malaysia ans Singapore.
The question remains… would the business passengers, who are the majority of the daily travels between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, willing to put up with delays, which is synonymous with AirAsia?
AirAisia gets the nod …read more

Ali Rustam’s PPP-bashing: Wake up Kayveas!

Ali Rustam’s PPP-bashing: Wake up Kayveas!

I couldn’t help myself from laughing when I read about Malaysiakini report about Ali Rustam’s humiliating opening speech at the Malacca PPP annual general assembly early this week. Sure it is not funny but can you imagine…. you organize a big assembly of your followers and supporters. Because your party is part of a bigger coalition, you thought it was appropriate to invite one of your coalition’s big brother to officiate your annual general meeting and perhaps some pep-talks to prepare you and your party members for the much-awaited next general election.
But instead of officiating the meeting and offer much-needed …read more

RM2.5 million: It’s not over yet.

RM2.5 million: It’s not over yet.

OK… it is a sweet victory for Abdul Malek Hussin, thanks to Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Mohd Hishamudin Mohd Yunus in a landmark decision that not only declared Abdul Malek’s ISA detention unlawful and done in bad faith, but also rewarded him with RM2.5 million in damages. But the party is not over yet. In fact the game had only just stared. I believe the BN Government will not take this lying down. An appeal by the prosecution is almost certain. Let’s just wait and see which judge will be picked for the appeal of the century.
