50 years of independence that is increasingly not?

It is obvious that the Government has been trying hard to instill patriotism among Malaysians with all kinds of Jalur Gemilang-flying campaigns especially in commemoration of the 50th year of Malaysia’s independence from foreign colonializations. The issue of Malaysian public not seen as patriotic are discussed in great depth especially by the mainstream media, be it printed or electronic media as if patriotism is nothing else but flying Jalur Gemilang, the beloved symbol of our country Malaysia.
I fully agree with the Government that we need to be patriotic to our country but I beg to differ if the definition of …read more

PKFZ: Ramli Ngah Talib rejected urgent motion on RM4.6 billion scandal

This blogger had predicted that the Speaker will reject the urgent motion by Lim Kit Siang to debate the PKFZ fiasco in the Parliment. Malaysiakini report today confirmed just that… and the reason given?
“The government is looking into the matter and as such there is no need to debate it in Parliament,” said Ramli in disallowing the debate.
Does that mean for all matters discussed in Parliment, the Government is not looking into them?
Lim Kit Siang of course was disappointed with the decision.
“It would appear that no Barisan Nasional MP (member of parliament) is prepared to take a principled stand …read more

Softloan over PKFZ: 50th year independence gift for Port Klang Authority?

Softloan over PKFZ: 50th year independence gift for Port Klang Authority?

I was away on Friday and weekend only to come back and celebrate my country’s independence with a news that many believe will come out sooner or later anyway…. my Government will use my money (well not all of it though because more will come from your money as well… yes you.. your money) to bailout Port Klang Authority for its screwed up Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project… but this time its conveniently called softloan. Wow… Malaysia Boleh spirit is really being put to real practice here.
I have no qualm if the softloan is granted prior to the project …read more

PKFZ RM4.6 billion scandal: Urgent motion by Lim Kit Siang will be rejected.

I can’t recall how many hundreds of times, if not thousands, the Opposition MPs had failed in their motions to debate pressing issues affecting the people. Mind you, these motions were normally very important from the eyes of the people which seems to be making sense only in the Opposition MPs point of view… but never for the Government’s MPs… very strange. All sorts of excuses were given in rejecting these motions and you don’t have to be surprised to find many of these reasons given by the speakers were just plain stupid.
So when I read Malaysiakini report that the …read more

PKFZ woes: Only Shahrir Samad has guts to speak up?

PKFZ woes: Only Shahrir Samad has guts to speak up?

I have been patiently waiting to watch and see who from the present UMNO-lead Government dare enough to open his/her big mouth and make noise about yet another mismanagement of public fund with regards to Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ). But as expected, none is forthcoming as if what happened in the PKFZ fiasco is no big deal.
Malaysiakini report today however shows there is still a man brave enough within the BN Government who is dare enough to speak up.
Vocal member of Parliament Shahrir Samad today said the authorities must investigate for possible corruption involving the country’s troubled port …read more

Worst bus crash in history: Blaming-others attitude goes on ….

While the family of the deceased are mourning their deaths and the survivors are suffering in the hospital, finger pointing for the worst road accident involving a bus in the nation’s history continues. Latest move by the authority is to make the CEOs of the bus companies responsible.
