The B5Media network:

Police report against the Malaysian PM Pak Lah: Tit-for-tat?

Police report against Pak LahCall it whatever, Malaysiakini’s report today may have put it in the right perspective…. PM is getting a dose of UMNO’s own medicine. Ronnie Liu, DAP’s central executive committee member, had lodged a police report against Pak Lah over a seditious comments in an article that was posted in the Prime Minister’s official website on Nov 14 last year entitled ‘Bersatulah Kaum Cina’ (The Chinese race must unite).

The report which had always been there in the website had apparently been removed. Many believe the removal was done after Ronnie Liu had blogged about the article in his blog. Ronnie however said that he had managed to print a copy of the article before it was removed. However that is not the only copy available even though the article had been removed from the website. Thanks to Google technology, a search in the Google cache by a resourceful blogger clearly shows the proof that the article was there.

Now the more interesting part of this whole new turn of event is yet to be seen. The public is now eager to see how the police would react to this police report. In RPK’s case, he was summoned to the police station in no time and was being questioned for good 8 hours before he was done with it. Would the police do the same thing in this case? I doubt it…. actually no…. I change my mind. I have no doubt that I am absolutely sure it won’t happen the same way RPK was treated. For God sake, Pak Lah is the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

That’s exactly the point Ronnie was trying to convey. He said that he did not expect actions will be taken against the beloved PM over the said article. However by the same token, he had suggested that actions should also have not been taken against RPK and Nat.

Without commenting further on KJ’s branding of certain bloggers as monkeys, let’s see what are going to unfold before our very own eyes next. Blogging in Malaysia is really going to be mind boggling.
