Eric Chia acquitted?

Eric Chia acquitted?

I believe that… or something like that… is what everyone will be saying when they read the latest Malaysiakini news about Eric Chia’s acquittal. 13 years ago Eric Chia, while he was at the helm of Perwaja Steel, had been accused with embezzling RM76.4mil of public money by entering into an agreement with NKK Corporation, Japan, and authorising the RM76.4mil to be paid into the account of Frilsham Enterprise Inc with the American Express Bank Ltd, Hong Kong.
The Government believed they had a strong case and went ahead to press charges against Eric Chia in August 2004. The Malaysian …read more

Ezam vs Anwar, UMNO wins

Ezam vs Anwar, UMNO wins

I have written that all is not well with PKR. The situation just got worse. In politic, anything can happen. Enemies can become friends and friends can become enemies. Worse still, ‘brothers’ can also become enemies.
That’s what had happened to Ezam, Anwar and Azmin. Malaysiakini had just reported about Ezam’s quitting the party he had been so involved and committed, all for one cause.. Anwar Ibrahim. And today, Ezam decided that he has had enough and quit the same party, also for the same reason, Anwar Ibrahim.
The following quotes are courtesy of Malaysiakini.
Ezam told malaysiakini today that he had …read more

Seng Durian Enterprise owner Ngang Boon Seng said: “Just like supermarkets and boutiques which accept credit cards, we want to offer such flexibility to our customers, too.”
“And business has been good as customers tend to buy more using credit cards,” he said, adding that a customer recently bought RM800 worth of durians.
It looks like the king of …read more
