Anwar factor: All is not well with PKR

Anwar was the reason Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) was born. Will the same Anwar be the reason for the reformists party to fall apart? It depends on who you talk to. The ongoing PKR Congress reveals there are several cracks within the party.
The unhappiness over Anwar was made public when a PKR Youth leader SD Johari, had decided not to contest for the wing deputy chief post as a mark of protest against the alleged interference by Anwar.
Ex-Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Youth Chief Ezam Mohd Nor, who had labelled the inteference as very unbecoming, however still cautious when asked …read more

System to fight mobile phone theft: A long awaited solution from authority

System to fight mobile phone theft: A long awaited solution from authority

While there is no statistics about it, mobile phones theft in Malaysia must have cost the public millions of dollars. And after so many years, the authorities has finally acted appropriately. The move by the government to setup the lost and stolen mobile phone database and completely disable the phone may have come a little bit late compared to other countries, but as the saying goes.. better late than never. I like to thank and congratulate the Government and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for taking this initiative to protect the interest of the public.
With this preventive measure taken …read more

It has been a well known fact that Malaysians, especially low to middle income groups, have been living in a pressurised economy… thanks to rising cost of living contributed by many factors that many Malaysians believe if the country is managed just a little better as a country…. the people would not be facing …read more

Engaging and embracing at the BUM2007 gathering, Lake View Club

Despite sustaining some injury on my ribs when I was doing a DIY project at home yesterday, I managed to attend the Blogger United Malaysia 2007 gathering held yesterday evening at the Lake View Club Subang Jaya.
I had fallen off the aluminium ladder and landed my ribs on a chair. The chair was badly damaged and my ribs now are severely in pain even by slight movement. I had asked my wife to send me there as I could not drive. Luckily an X-ray showed no fractured bones or anything like that but I was at the BUM2007 on …read more

Sexist remark: MPs finally apologizes… to women

Sexist remark: MPs finally apologizes… to women

They uttered the words, they denied about it initially, they were reported to have apologized and retracted back, and finally today it took a meeting with Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil for these MPs to apologize.
Even then, I still think many women will find their apology questionable based on what had been reported by Malaysiakini.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, both the MPs said they would like to tender their apologies, if “women were offended”.
However they defended their words used in the Dewan as necessary to defend the government during debates.
They also did not …read more

Sexist remark in Parliment: Malaysian MPs are insensitive lots

“Mana ada bocor, Batu Gajah pun tiap-tiap bulan bocor juga (Where is the leak? Batu Gajah leaks every month too).”
The above statement (referring to woman’s monthly menstruation period) came from a Malaysian Parlimentarian who is obviously has no regards for woman. To add salt to injury, another Member of Parliment even has the audacity to claim
…when we say such things in Parliment, we take them as a joke, not as personal attack.
A joke? What an insentivive MP we have here. No wonder women all over the country are fuming mad.
Malaysiakini reported :

‘We want gender sensitive MPs!’ …read more
