An evening in Ijok on by-election polling day…Final Part

After spending quite sometime in front of Ijok police station, I finally made my way to Batang Berjuntai and reached there by 6.00pm. The town were still relatively quiet since the happenings were still at the various polling centers in Ijok, but the policemen were seen everywhere. After parking my car somewhere near the Public Hall, I immediately went for a walkabout around the center which will be used for votes counting and results announcement.

The supporters of the two rival parties are directed to two different areas around the Batang Berjuntai Public Hall.

An evening in Ijok on by-election polling day…Part 3

I guess by now, you would have already known about the two buses that were allegedly ferrying phantom voters that were caught by PKR and PAS supporters. The highly intensed incident aparrently started in Bukit Badong at about 4pm (that explains why Ijok town was still relatively calm when I passed by at around 4.15pm). The two buses were spotted at a polling station in Sungai Darah earlier that afternoon on the polling day. see the video coverage of the incident by Malaysiakini.tv.
The following pictures show the two suspected buses being quarantined at the Ijok police station. There were …read more

An evening in Ijok on by-election polling day…Part 2

When I arrived in Ijok town on my way to Batang Berjuntai, I was greeted by a stand-still traffic at the main junction near the police station. I had passed this same junction about 30-40 minutes ago and the roads were not that bad then. I had tried to make left turn to Batang Berjuntai but the traffic cop directed me to the right signalling the road leading to Batang Berjuntai was closed. There must be something going on… I must check. I quickly parked my car at the Petronas station right at the junction and made my way into …read more

An evening in Ijok on by-election polling day…Part 1

I arrived in Ijok at about 4.30pm after some gruelling journey that took me almost 2 hours via Sungai Buloh. I definitely made the mistake by taking that route. I should have followed the Guthrie Highway to save some time and made some extra money for the toll concesionaire.
I didn’t stop at the Ijok town but rather drive passed the town to one of the polling centers at one of the school which is situated right in the mosque compound. Here are some of the photos I managed to shoot using my Nikon S9 digital camera that I bought at …read more

Ijok: The so-called truth will be revealed today

So much had been said about Ijok by-election, which is believed to be the last by-election before the upcoming general election. Today, the people of Ijok will make their wish known. And what is at stake are of paramount importance to both contesting parties BN and PKR.
To BN, the Ijok by-election is not really about do-or-die mission (at least that is what I personally think) as BN, the coalition of various parties in Malaysia which is led by Malay-based UMNO, already have comfortable margin and control in both the State and Federal Government levels. Ijok by-election, in my humble opinion, …read more

KWSP deserves a pat on its back for efficiency but there is still room for improvements

I have on three ocassions applied for withdrawals of my Employee Provident Fund (EPF) or Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP). The first one was for the initial deposit towards the purchase of my house and the last two were to reduce the balance of my housing loan with the Bank.
