Tune Hotels: Kuala Lumpur’s latest affordable, cheapest, no frills hotel
Just from the look of the exterior of the hotel, you’d probably have guessed that this hotel must have something to do with Air Asia or Tony Fernandez or both. Tune Hotels is the latest brainchild of Tony Fernandez, the man behind the extremely successful Air Asia, Malaysia’s first low cost, no frills airline. And know, Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia is proud to present to the world Asia’s first no frills hotel. Even from the pricing, you’d know that it is the trade mark of Tony Fernandez. Where else in the world can you get a hotel accomodation so cheap at RM9.99 (barely USD3.00)? Now every one can stay at a hotel…. so to speak, borrowing Air Asia’s Now everyone can fly…
But don’t be fooled by the price. The first Tune Hotels is located right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Everything is close by the Tune Hotel. Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC), Bintang Walk, KL Tower, Chinatown at Petaling Street, monorail stations… just to name a few, are all within short public transport ride or even walking distance to the adventureous folks.
If you were wondering how would the rooms look like for RM9.99 a night, worry no more. It’s just as good as other RM60 – RM150 per night range of hotels available around the Malaysia’s capital city, if not better. You can even make the booking online. This is definitely the cheapest hotel in Kuala Lumpur for now. Better news is that Tune Hotels also plans to have a hotel in every major city in Malaysia in the future. So if you are coming to Kuala Lumpur, you should give Tune Hotels a try and see if Tony really delivers what he says. But before that, may I suggest that you read the FAQ’s first.
I am so impressed with Tony Fernandez’s business ideas. His business models not only bring handsome profit to his company and shareholders but also provide value for money for common people on the street. If only his Air Asia’s flights are not riddled with delays. That aside, I wish there are more businessmen in Malaysia who can emulate Tony Fernandez’s brilliance when it comes to no-frills stuff.
Congratulation to Tony Fernandez and Tune Hotels…. now everyone can fly and stay at a hotel.

How far the Tune Hotel from Pudu Raya bus station ? How can I get the hotel from pudu raya ? Thank’s.
CJCM: I think not very far…. should be within 15-20 minutes in normal traffic. The easiest is taxi of course, but there are buses I am sure. Please ask at the ticket counter 1st. TQ
I’m going to stay there this August and I’m driving from JB. So, is it any parking space at Tune Hotel KL? or have to add on?
CJCM: Not sure about the parking at the hotel itself but there are plenty of parking spaces around the hotel.
I went to the website and tried to book a room there but it costs RM 67.99 per night for the single room. Where’s the RM9.99??
CJCM: Hehehe…. that one must be sold out laaa. Thats how Tony sells it…. a few rooms at 9.99 the rest at normal price laa. Like AirAsia laaa. You dunno meh?

I oso dun understand how come all people is praise how good is this hotel.I get my most bad day at this hotel.
In last year my holiday during November, something bad happen 2 me in this wat i call ‘thief’ hotel. i went to Kl for holiday & after enjoying my hold day at KL i went back 2 hotel & rest. I bring 2 handphone “HP” during tat holiday.i’m very tired & left 1 of my HP at bed & close wif pillow during check out the next day.
after an hour i check out & at Downtown of KL the next day then onli i realise i lost my HP & i tried 2 call back & it already close.
I thought is the house keeping close it & wait me go back & collect my HP but when i reach there they told me they didnt found any HP at that room.
Hey my HP is under the pillow & no body will realise there a HP down the pillow but they told me they didnt found any HP in that room. Somemore my Hp battery is full & could not close by it self. there must be some one close my HP & took it.
I not satisfied with it & ask them 2 bring me to that room again.
i would like to impose same concept to my resort who can let me know who is the engineer incahrge of the system
hey Tara, i dont think u can blame the hotel if hsekeeping steals the phone. in fact, the next tenant may just steal it. this can happen anywhere because no. 1, u left ur hphone! My advice is that u be more careful with ur belongings, no establishment can be held responsible for ur own belongings if u are careless. I hope you are much more careful in the future
May I k now how near or far is tune hotel from Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. I will attend a conference on November 23-25 at the KL convention center and I want to stay in place where it is very near the convention center
CJCM: Dear Annie, If you define very near as within walking distance, then Tune Hotel is not very near. You need to take a roughly 10-minute cab ride to get to KL Convention Center from Tune Hotel.
Alternatively, may be you should consider Mandarin Hotel, or Traders Hotel (both are upmarket) or Maya Hotel which are within walking distance…. VERY near to KL Convention Center.
Hope you enjoy your stay in KL.
