Zass!! The world’s first mobile hair salon is in Kuala Lumpur

Pheeww….. what a great idea. It’s the world first and the original idea was mooted by Malaysian…. this is truly Malaysia Boleh (Malaysia Can). I am talking about Zass!! The world’s first mobile hair salon… in a vintage looking in striking red color bus. Now… tell me.. that’s not cool…errr hot?
According to founder Fara La’jam, Zass!! is the first mobile hair salon in the world, and it will be zipping around town offering hair-styling services to Klang Valley residents.
“We are a mobile hair salon and we move from location to location on a daily basis,” said Fara during a soft launch of the service at Craven Cafe, Ampang, Sunday.
Some locations identified for the bus include Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Universiti Putra Malaysia hostels, housing estates and various office car parks.
And how much would a hair cut that takes you around the city cost? (CJCM: Correction… the hair cut is done when the bus is stationary… not when the bus is on the move. My apology for the error..
Nevertheless it is still one of the greatest idea ever thought.) A mere RM8 (about USD2.50)…. wow that’s another Malaysian record… cheapest mobile hair-cut travel. And guess what… RM1 from each haircut will be donated to a student welfare fund for the various universities hosting the mobile unit.
I hope this latest attraction in Kuala Lumpur will be enjoyed by all locals and foreigners. Hats off to the founder of Zass!!

congratulations to Zass! With all due respect, however, Onsite Haircuts in Silicon Valley opened its “doors” in 2003 and now has a fleet of 3 mobile salons. And while Onsite Haircuts is now 5 years old and one of the largest, even we were not the first!
CJCM: TQ for the info.
Hello people,
(This is exactly why we don’t update our activities to the public..)
If you care to read our articles, our claim as 1st in the world is 3-in-1 mobile bus (beauty salon, retail and community message service ). It is a social enterprise, a biz model for the needy to start their own biz. However,we are still in R&D and will launch our fleet when the blueprint is finalized..insya Allah..
Onsite Haircuts is what Thomas & Guys copied after we launched in 2007.We’re not competing /copied anyone’s idea. While hairstyling is both those company’s main business, it isn’t our main component.Zass!! accomodates to the physically challenged and the home-bound.
We’d like to thank all the int’l bodies,NGOs,govt bodies, friends that has given good feedback on this project. We value all feedback as constructive. We are well aware that critics will always be critics, putting down every good effort there is to help mankind. oh well, Malaysia Boleh!
Interesting..surfing to find info on Malaysia, found this page..
I’m from Silicon Valley, have tried Onsite Haircuts. Not too sure abt their claim of starting since when. It ain’t like Zass. It’s just a barber in a bus. I’m not with any sides here Leonard, but you better check your claims.Karma has his ways to punish bad seeds.
