Malaysian dot-com millionaire joined an opposition party
The Star Online today ran a short story about Tony Pua, a technopreneur millionaire, who had announced his decision to join opposition party Democratic Action Party (DAP). The ex-CEO of Cyber Village Sdn Bhd, the company he founded in 1997, had sold his stake in the company. His membership in DAP had been well received and he has been appointed as Economic Advisor to DAP’s Secretary General Lim Kit Siang.
Tony also now runs two personal blogs: Philosophy Politics Economics and Education in Malaysia.
When asked about why he joined an opposition party, here is what Tony has to say:
“I have no intention of joining parties in which I will be reprimanded or punished for voicing out the people’s interests and concerns,” the 35-year-old said yesterday
Now, a one-million-dollar question…. which parties was Tony referring to? Anyone?
