Fireworks in Kuala Lumpur

Fireworks in Kuala Lumpur

Just minutes ago I heard thunderous sound in front of our apartment in Taman Desaminium. When I rushed out to the balcony, I found out there was a firework from the other side of the town where I live, most probably from the National Sport Complex at Bukit Jalil Stadium, but I am not sure. I am also not sure what is the occasion, the one I could think of was Aidil Adha which all Muslims are celebrating tomorrow, but I had managed to catch the fireworks on my Nikon camera and uploaded it to YouTube. Enjoy!

28th December 2006, One of My Family’s Happiest Day

I am feeling on top of the world. And so is my eldest daughter, Sakinah. No, I think she is not feeling on top of the world… she is feeling out of this world. Few months back, she sat for a major Form Three examination, Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) and today she got her result. Straight As in all 9 subjects. Pheww…. all of us have been nervously waiting for this date. And thank God Almighty, our prayers are finally answered and all of her hard work paid off. We just came back from dinner for celebrating her outstanding achievement …read more

Shopping at Alamanda, Putrajaya

Shopping at Alamanda, Putrajaya

I went shopping with my wife and kids at Alamanda today. The children are starting school next week so there are a lot of shopping to be done. Alamanda is one of the nearest shopping centre around where I live in Seri Kembangan. The ultra modern shopping center is located in the Malaysia’s new administrative capital of Putrajaya, about 15-20 minutes away from Cyberjaya, where I work.
We did all our shopping today at Carrefour, one of the hypermarkets operating in Malaysia. Everything, well almost everything, is available there at reasonable prices.
Buying everything that is required for the children for the …read more

Kayns Resort, a Nice Secluded Resort Hotel in Port Dickson

Kayns Resort, a Nice Secluded Resort Hotel in Port Dickson

Port Dickson is a very popular resort destination in Negeri Sembilan with lots of beautiful beaches and resort hotels, most of them at affordable prices.

Me and my family went to Port Dickson on Friday and spent a night in a nice and secluded Kayns Resort. That was a second time we stayed at the hotel. And I chose to stay in the same room, the Junior Suite, we had stayed the first time.

The suite, which faces the beach, is the largest room in the resort hotel and cost only MYR245 (USD70) for one night, where we get a …read more

Why I Love Problogger Group Writing Project

Why I Love Problogger Group Writing Project

As I have mentioned before, this is my second time I have participated in the project. And I love it. Why do I love Darren’s Group Writing Project?
1. It encourages me to write more. The more I have to write, the harder I have think. That makes me continuallly striving to produce better articles (well that’s subjective isn’t it?)
2. Opportunity to be part of a huge blogging community whose members that are either already successful, on the way to the top or just beginners like me. And there are so much to learn from each and everyone of them. Its …read more

Looking Forward To 2007…. A Successful Year

That’s it. 11 more days to go for 2006 after which it will be history. And 2007 is going to be a reality soon. Another year has passed by and another year is going to come by. 2007…what does the future hold for me in terms of blogging and Kuala Lumpur is Home? Good question… I am kind of talking to myself here. I can’t tell the future but I can certainly plan to make the future be a bright one for me and Kuala Lumpur is Home. Whether or not those plans can materialise is another story altogether. There …read more

AirAsia CEO Celebrates While Passengers Stranded in Kota Bharu

Just few days ago I wrote about AirAsia, which is run based on the low cost carrier model and is doing very well. Last night the CEO of AirAsia Dato Tony Fernandez received Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Malaysia 2006 Award for his feat developing AirAsia to what it is today.
While he was celebrating with the award, one of his aircrafts caused major havoc in Kota Bharu, where my home town is. Apparently, Flight AK6329 was taking off from Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Kota Bharu when the plane veered off the runway and was stranded. The …read more

sKiNi… My Children’s Blog

My children are on their year end school holiday and every day they just wasted their time on Friendster.. all day long until the wee hours of the morning. I asked them if they would like to start writing for a blog, and the answer was a resounding ..yessss Being a blogger-dad, that makes me all excited at once. I wasted no time and quickly thought of a theme… a multi author students blog… the first two authors are my two daughters Sakinah and Aini Aslah (hence sKiNi). Then we added Sakinah’s friend Sarah, my son Ridhwan and …read more
